What should I make for dessert?

We get together on Sundays with a group of friends, and it is my turn to bring dessert.  Any favs that you have?  I'm being really indecisive right now and thinking about making something new.  Also, it can't be anything that is really difficult to make or requires crazy ingredient. TFU and TIA!

@Dangermuffin23 I've never made cheesecake, and DH doesn't like it.  But, could you make it and send a slice to me?

sure thing, once dh lets me make fall stuff. it's been banned until Sept 22nd. lol  I make it with a gingersnap crust too :-)

well it's like 106 degrees here, so my compromise was sept 22 which is the fall equinox and you can't argue with science. lol.  On the DL though, DH is leaving for Kenya tomorrow and not coming back till the 23rd so it's going up sooooooonnnnnnn :-P

I make mine with a ginger snap crust, too! And I do candied pecans and caramel on top! Yum yum! Now I have to get the stuff to make pumpkin cheesecake.

Gingersnap Crust:
2 cups gingersnap cookie crumbs (about 40 cookies)
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Filling:
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin
1 tablespoon flour
2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon McCormick® Gourmet Collection Cinnamon, Saigon
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Gourmet Collection Ginger, Ground
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Gourmet Collection Cloves, Ground
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Gourmet Collection Nutmeg, Ground

Vanilla Whipped Cream (optional):
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. For the Crust, mix all ingredients in medium bowl. Press evenly into bottom of 9-inch springform pan. Set aside. 

2. For the Filling, beat cream cheese and brown sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed after each addition just until blended. Add pumpkin, flour, vanilla and spices; beat until smooth. Pour into crust. 

3. Bake 50 minutes or until top is lightly browned and center is almost set. Turn off oven; let cheesecake stand in oven 1 hour. Remove from oven. Run small knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cheesecake. Cool in pan on wire rack. 

4. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. 

5. For the Vanilla Whipped Cream, beat cream, confectioners’ sugar and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Garnish with cheesecake with Vanilla Whipped Cream, if desired.

My go to for get together's is always some sort of bar, brownies, cheesecake bars, lemon bars etc. Easy to eat but yummy too!

I take dessert to family dinner each week.  Last week I did a marble pound cake that starts with a cake mix.  This week, I think I'm doing banana pudding.

I made the mistake of telling DH I would make whatever he wanted.  He chose brownies.  I am going to try to recreate this. Wish me luck that I will not turn out all crazy.  I made the brownies and will do the chocolate tomorrow (I'm on my second glass of wine and am a complete klutz in the kitchen).  I am definitely holding onto some of these ideas for the future!

If that doesn't work, I suggest brownie & strawberry kabobs. Yeah. Just alternate bits of brownie and strawberry on a skewer. It's amazing.
