FRER [First Response Early Response] Faulty

So i took a FRER on Aug. 31st got a positive result. Went to my doctor on Wednesday, won't get results till next week.

Took a test on thursday from a DIFFERENT box, of FRER got a positive.

Went to the ER thursday because I started spotting then started having SERVE cramp like pains.

At the ER my blood levels were at 0.  

 I  had only been spotting/bleeding for 15 mins, took my last FRER in the waiting room before being taken to my room. went straight back and it was positive. Used the same sample for the er pee test which was negative, and so were my blood levels taken 5 mins from that.

Two different boxes, bought at 2 different stores. one with one test the other with 2.

Bought a two weeks appointment.

this is the first test

The test and the others showed up positive within the time limit, a lot stronger in the color.

I will never use these tests again.

We were not TTC, we had a week to get used to the idea and my love was EXTREMELY excited. We weren't preventing either. Still not preventing but not going to officially TTC till two months after the wedding. We've been together going on 2 years, lived together the whole time.

Just posting this to see if any one else has the same problem with FRER

I think I've heard that tests at the ER are usually less sensitive than an FRER, so this doesn't necessarily mean the FRER gave a false positive. Of course, you could look up the lot number(s) to see if the tests were faulty, but it may also have been a chemical pregnancy.

That is a weird story. FRER are usually pretty accurate. Sorry Bout your experience.

I've never been able to even faintly turn a pregnancy test positive so I can't say that I've had the same experience. Sorry for your experience though.

Yep, her numbers shopuld have been at least a 5 or higher for her to have had a positive test.

you had only been spotting/bleeding for 15 minutes? and in that time you got to the ER and took another test? i'm clearly reading this wrong. 

i'm not sure what the problem is. could be faulty tests. it could also have been ectopic that miscarried on its own. it does happen. my first happened that way. so you would have a positive test. then again, i don't know why the ER test would show negative. but unless those lot numbers show they are faulty i would say it is incredibly difficult to have false positives from so many tests from different boxes. FRER's are typically reliable. it's the blue dye that are not.

and there was no reason for you to explain your home situation. i'm glad that your love was excited though. i'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Right, they wouldn't *be* 0, but I thought that some blood tests reported 0 as long as you were under some low threshold.

I'm not sure, but as Lizzie said, 5 or above confirms HCG in the blood confirming pregnancy. Anything below that would be considered not pregnant anyway. This whole situation seems off regardless.

Yeah, it's odd. And it certainly could be the tests. I was just presenting an alternate possibility. I still think CP is possible, since HCG would be present in the urine later than in the bloodstream, and since FRERs are so sensitive.

What an odd experience. With my CP I got a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry faint FRER in the morning and my HCG at 3pm was 6. It seems like if that were the case you would have has something show up on your blood test.

Sorry about your experience. FRERs have always beeen extremely accurate for me. Maybe try some goggling and see if it has happened to others.
