My boss pulled me into the office this afternoon to "talk." I assumed he was having me come into his office to discuss why I've been leaving early and coming in late a lot (for Dr's appointments), and I didn't want to have to try and dodge that bullet. So I had about 30 seconds from when I got the e-mail saying "let's chat now if you have a second," and conjuiring up what to respond with.
Instead, it was to let me know that the profit share from one of the companies I'm in direct connection with, has done well this year. So he cut me a check for half of my portion of the profits. This was completely unexpected, and I will get the other portion in December. He explained to me what is going on with the profit share, and said "I hope this will help out in whatever you're dealing with medically because I know the insurance we offer doesn't cover it." Oh, if only he knew how much weight this takes off our shoulders.
Now if only I could just go buy lots of shoes with it instead.
