Side dish for roast chicken

DH and I are going over to a friend's house Sunday evening for dinner. They are making roast chicken. We are bringing a side dish, but I don't know what to bring. What are your favorite side dishes for roast chicken? Thanks!

Roasted asparagus, sesame broccoli, a quinoa salad with lemon juice, olive oil, and any veggies you like (I like small diced cucumber & red peppers w/green onions).

as a kid we always had mashed potatoes with roasted chicken.  im actually having roast chicken tonight and im thinking of doing cous cous.

I usually roast potatoes and veggies along with the chicken or make mashed potatoes. What about baked mac and cheese or risotto?

I'm also a potatoes fan - usually 1 of 2 ways:

1. Garlic Mashed Potatoes (using only red and gold potatoes)

2. Rosemary Garlic Roasted Red Potatoes

Although I've discovered another dish that has become quite popular... Orzo pasta mixed with cream and garlic salt. It's so easy but so tasty. It's easier than making risotto if you're on a time crunch.

Thanks everyone for the replies! All these dishes sounds so yummy! DH and I are leaning towards either roasted or mashed potatoes. I definitely like the risotto/orzo ideas as well. Thanks again!
