Re: QOTD 9/12

  • HA!!!  Never.  3X a week.  My hair dries out easily and just looks better when it's a tad dirty.

  • During the week, everynight. It styles better in the morning if its "dirty"

On the weekend i usually skip washing my hair bc who has time with a baby!

  • I wash it every other day.  I'm actually trying to get to about 3 times a week because I recently had a Brazilian Blowout done and it will last longer if I was it less.  I picked up a dry shampoo to see if that will hold me over between washes.

  • It's dirt cheap (like $2) but I love Dove's dry shampoo ; )

  • I have to wash it everyday! My clean hair look has a 24 hour shelf life lol . As soon as I hit the 24 hour mark I start looking like a grease monkey ...I can thank my dads side of the family for that! I have on occasion use the dry shampoo and I can maybe squeak out another few hours before its a lost cause :-)
  • Yes, it gets really gross if I don't. There is no way my curls last through the night.

  • 3x a week too.  Usually Tuesday and Thursday mornings (I don't want to get up earlier on Mondays and Fridays lol ) then sometime on the weekend.  But lately I've been showering after the gym because I'm a sweaty mess.

  • Now that I have (longish?) hair, I'm at three times a week.  When I had my lovely pixie cut, I'd wash everyday because styling it was a pain in the butt otherwise.

  • I usually do every day during the week.  The weekends are a different story though.  There are sometimes during the week that I won't wash my entire head, I will only was the front.  I feel like the front of my hair gets greasy fast.

Maybe I should try the dry shampoo like you guys use.  I feel like I have never seen it in the stores before.  Is it with the regular shampoo?

  • I get the sauve dry shampoo, sometimes it's with the shampoos, sometimes in the styling section (my walmart had them on separent aisles).

  • Usually every other day. It becomes a frizzy mess if I wash it more.

I've never used dry shampoo before, but seeing everyone else in the thread talking about it is making me curious.

  • Every other day, if I wash it more than that my scalp dries up.
  • never! i'm too lazy. my hair looks good for 36-48 hrs, so it's not too bad. I shower afternoon/ night b/c i can't imagine getting up a second earlier than i have to! i even pick out all my clothes for the week on sunday so i don't have to do it at 6:30 am (ps-i leave for work by 6:50, take care of chickens, ducks, and dogs before i go!!! my morning routine is down to a science!)

  • Usually every 2-3 days. I dry shampoo on the days that I don't wash it. I've tried a few different brands...one from Sephora (Ojon (spell?)) that worked well, but was $25 a can and on 2 different cans it stopped spraying with about 1/3 of the can left. I was so annoyed because it wasn't cheap and I was throwing away money! I also tried a cheaper version from Target (Umberto, I think), but that left my hair feeling too powdery.

The winner is Klorane, I order it either on Amazon or through Birch Box. It's mid price (not as cheap as Target, not as expensive as the one from Sephora), soaks up oil really well, and does not leave a powdery residue.

  • I hate washing my hair!  It only takes about 10 minutes to blow dry, but it is such a hassle!  Some weeks I'll wash it once a week, others every other day.  Average for me is every second day, but it varies.  I'm a big pony tail fan to hide my dirty hair :)

I've tried dry shampoo but when I did I felt like it made my hair grosser.  I think I was using it wrong.  I don't remember, but I think I bought Tresamme (sp?) because I read in the magazine that it was the best one out there.
  • I hate washing my hair, but I do every day or every other day usually. I sometimes avoid it on the weekends. I hate typical dry shampoos since my hair is dark and it always, no matter what, stays really white in my hair. What I do instead (and is super cheap compared to dry shampoo prices!!!) is mix 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of baking powder in a small bowl. I've only mixed it once and it's lasted me around a year. I use a face powder brush and brush it in. It absorbs all of the grease!!

  • yes, it does!! The first few minutes you put it on it might look lighter, like it hasn't absorbed, but give it a few minutes. I figured that it couldn't hurt to try!!

  • I wash mine on average once a day. I occasionally skip days, but sometimes I wash twice in one day.
  • I have dark hair too, but have no problem with dry shampoo. If you use the spray kind, not the powder, and spray it at your roots, let it absorb for a minute, and then brush it through your hair, you won't be left with weird white patches.

See, even when I try that it doesn't work! I've only ever tried the sprays in the kind that you buy. I don't know what it is with my hair hatin' on it, but they don't agree. lol. I'm just glad I found a solution that works for me!
