We had our first birth class last night, poor DH had to watch a natural birth video on his birthday.
I really felt like birth class was kind of like my high school sex education unit. It's going to be a long few weeks... Especially when DH has to watch a birth with a epidural and a c-section. Luckily, I'm not phased by these things.
Re: Birth Class
We did the one day birth class. I had initially wanted the 6 week session, but the facilitator was a freaking weirdo, and I'm not sure I would have gone back after the first class.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

We have ours on 9/21 and took the all day class. DH's one request was wanting to do the all day class.
After awhile, you just want to be with the one who makes you laugh. - Mr. Big
2 to go) and I actually kind of hate it. Our instructor talks to us like we're children and even uses a baby talk kind of tone. She also constantly says, "guess what" and it drives me nuts. I've not learned anything useful that I didn't already know yet but DH has slightly so I guess that's good.
I guess the birthing positions we learned last week were kind of informative but even then it wasn't a huge a-ha for us.
The videos are cheesy and I agree that it feels more like a high school sex ed rather than an informative birthing class for adults.
