Closing delayed...

Our closing was scheduled for tomorrow. We find out two days ago that the seller had filed for bankruptcy and doesn't have all of her stuff together. All that we are waiting on is a judge to sign off something on her end before we can close.

So frustrated. I just had to cancel moving truck, utilities, and movers. Also I took a week off work. We have to be out of our rental by the end of this month. So upset

I guess that was more of a vent. But also wondering what everyone would do...

It really sounds like you don't have a choice at this point.  My closing moved 3 times and closed a week and a half late.  It was stressful and a real PIA at the time but I love my home now.  Good luck with everything!

Our closing moved a lot because our seller couldn't get their crap together either. We closed 2 weeks later than planned and even on closing day the only reason we could close was because the judge gave our title company the okay to do so. 

That's just life for you though. We were lucky in that we still had 3 more months in our apartment so we didn't have to worry about not having a place to live.

So sorry!  Alas, not a lot that can be done. At this point in closing you are at the mercy of the banks and the sellers.  It WILL get worked out, but it's tough to be in limbo in the meantime.  I hope your closing happens soon.
