This has been on my TBR list for a while. I'd love to hear your overall thoughts when you finish.

  • I just finished The Bone Season by Samantha Shannnon this morning and ended up really really getting into the story, especially towards the end. JK Rowling she is not, but masterfully storyteller for sure. I think people who liked Neverwhere and Daughter of Smoke and Bone and the intricate world building of the HP world will really dig this book.  I really hope more people read this so we can discuss.

I'm about 85% done with The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley too. I can't imagine how this will wrap up without being sad.

I'll probably start Surrender to Sultry next and maybe Handmaid's Tale next.

  • I'm reading A Reliable Wife. It's for my book club at the end of the month, and it's ok so far, but I'm not very far into it.

It's number 22/30 for the year.

@jackiback I loved loved loved that book!

I'm going to a conference in Chattanooga next weekend and David (I forget his last name...) will be there and this book has been on my TBR for the longest time so I wanted to read it before I heard him speak.

I feel like this is one that I'll be pulling out all through the boys' lives.

Yes! I highlighted and starred so many passages and points. My husband ended up reading it too because I kept talking about it.

I am reading Shadow and Bone and am LOVING it!  The first 30-40 pages I felt so lost as to WTF this world was and how it worked, but then it just all clicked and I am totally into it.

    WOOOHOOOOOO

  • I'm currently reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman (#57) and John Adams by David McCullough (#58).  I'm only about halfway through The Magicians so that's not getting done for book club tomorrow.  And I've barely read any of John Adams.  I haven't been getting much reading done this week :(

  • I was waiting until I finished the book I was reading so I could post it and the book I'm about to start on my next break. :P

I finished Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn on my lunch (#48) and will start The Cuckoo's Calling (#49) on my next break. Sharp Objects was for fun and Cuckoo's Calling is for my IRL bookclub which will be discussing it next weekend.
