Hi Ladies, I'm a regular poster on GP but not quite ready to come here yet but thought this was a better place for this question.

I got a natural BFP but RE still wants me to take progesterone supps. I picked them up tonight (holy expensive!!!!) but I didn't really get any instructions except for 2x/day vaginally. So my questions
How do I know if it's far enough in? can I do it wrong?
Did you space it out every 12 hours or just morning and night?

If you've been on them how long were you on them?

TIA

Just shove it up there. You can't really do it wrong. I did it right before I went to bed and after my morning shower. Don't forget to get a ton of panty liners, it will be a hot mess down there! I used those on my unsuccessful cycles so I wasn't on them or long. I was taking the injection form this cycle up to 10 weeks. Most people stop between 10-12 weeks (when your placentas takes over).

  • Ditto LL, just kind of shove it up there. I know some people get applicators with theirs; I didn't and basically just inserted it as far as my finger would go in.

Unsuccessful cycles I took them until BFN/AF. Then I used them for IVF and was able to stop relatively soon after my second beta b/c my progesterone levels were high enough.

  • what everyone else said. you can't really do it wrong. when i began to lose control of it with my fingers i called it good. i just did it at bedtime and after my morning shower. on the weekends i didn't always shower if we had a lazy day so sometimes it was later in the day. i was on them until 15w. i didn't have low progesterone, it was a precaution due to the prior losses. i actually had DH help with the insertion a lot of the time. it was the closest i got to any action the entire pregnancy ;)
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • Mine always came with applicators, so I just pushed as far as it would go.  I'm on them 3x a day now and space them out 8 hours apart (6am, 2pm, 10pm).  I know I'll be on them for at least a few more weeks but I don't know the exact end yet.  Make sure to stock up on pantyliners because YUCK!

  • My RE said o get it as close to the cervix as possible. So its shoved up in there! I just started taking them on Thursday every 12 hours. And yes, invest in panty liners!

  • I was on them until a few days ago. My doctor told me just to get it atleast two knuckles up. I was afraid they'd fall out, but that didn't happen.

Also, if the pill is colored, don't worry when CM changes color. Mine was blue. :)
