Fitness Post!

How did everyone do last week?  Any goals for this week?

Re: Fitness Post!

  • I blew off a lot of my scheduled work outs last week because I was still recovering from a cold, DH was out of town, and I just wasn't motivated because I was depressed about being home after vacation.

On Monday I did a 4.5 mile run and then didn't do anything until my long run on Saturday.  I skipped my long run the weekend before, so I knew I had to do it this weekend...I was not looking forward to it, but I forced myself and was able to do 8 miles.  I did a pattern of run 15 minutes/walk 2 and that seemed to work well for me and I was able to finish in 1:35 (11:58 pace).  The last mile was really hard, but overall, I felt okay through the whole thing.  I was definitely done at the end of 8 though, so it is intimidating to think about running another 5 on top of that.  But even though I skipped most of last week, I feel really good about my long run, so hopefully that motivates me for this week.

I also did a 5k with Mason on Sunday!  He kept asking me all weekend to do the race, so I took him with me since it was a family fun run/walk.  He was a trooper!  When he crossed the finish line, he raised his hands, and yelled "woo hoo!".  They had smiley face cookies at the end, so he was really excited to "win" a cookie!

This weekend I also bought new shoes - so I am excited to try them out this week.
  • Meghan, the pics of you & Mason at the race were too cute!  That's awesome that he did it with you!

I have nothing to report this week.  *hanging head in shame*

  • I was sick so I was a slacker. I went to Zumba Monday night but that was it. I could have done more towards the weekend but with being busy and coordinating workouts us not feeling 100% I didn't. I plan to be better this week and at least get my Zumba in

  • I actually ran 3 days! Tues (4), Thurs (4.25) and Saturday (6.2). All of the sudden it seems like something just "clicked" and my runs have actually become very enjoyable. I hope to get three days in again this week.

  • I ran once, two trips to the gym I think last week for strength training. This week I hope to do better. The weekend was a bit of a flop because I dedicated myself to scraping and priming the big window in the front of the house.  I want to gym at least twice this week. And run 2-3 times as well. This weather is great for running!  If it wasn't for the weed pollens I would be in my glory.
  • Recovered from my race and got two runs in.  Feels good to be out there again even though I feel I've lost some ground with the tendonitis.  Hope to get one swim workout in this week as well.  Treated myself to a new cap and goggles...sexy!!

  • I'm chugging along, but can't say that I'm doing amazing. I got to run one day and went to the gym the other two.

  • This weather has been amazing for running - I thought it would be a great motivator, but it is also making me want to curl up on the couch with a blanket and watch movies all day. Or snack all day and watch football.

    Way to go Leigh Ann!
  • Last week was a wash, I hurt my back so there was no gym going at all. I'm going to try and go back today for a light workout (I thought start with an easy mile and see how I feel). I'm oddly looking forward to it!
  • I did my Body Blast class (lots of squats and weights for arms/back/shoulders) and I did zumba as well.  I need to get back up to 3 classes a week, but we have soccer practice three nights a week and DH has been working a lot in our bathroom when he can, so I didn't fit in that 3rd one last week.  Hopefully this week!   I do feel so much better though getting back in to the habit.
