Ahhh, I can't believe I'm already turning 30!!! I have been dreading this for so long, but it was bound to happen. Sooooo, I'm saying goodbye to my twenties with a bang!! I'm planning an over-the-top 1920's Great Gatsby themed party!

My uncle and aunt have kindly offered their home to hold the event. They have a very beautiful, very large house with enough space for a bartender, dj, caterer, tables and chairs and I'm even planning on getting some blackjack dealers. My friends are getting really into it and we're all looking for fabulous flapper dresses and head pieces! I think I'm about as excited for this party as I was for my wedding! lol It's going to be held on March 1, so I've still got a good amount of time to plan it.
Has anyone ever had or been to a party with this theme? Any input or ideas? Like I said, I'm going all out and want this to be a very memorable occasion!
Re: 30th Birthday Party!
That sounds like so much fun. You are lucky!!
I haven't been to a theme party like that ever.
I've done several themed parties. They were mostly back in the day when I was 20 so we never got too fancy with it. People always got really into my themes though. I think it's because I gave prizes, usually alcohol and we were all underage so getting your hands on booze was a big deal back then!
I haven't been to a themed party in so long it would be one to host one now that I'm a real adult, lol!
I know a lot of people combine the 1920s with murder mystery themes. You could do something with that. I saw an episode of The Girls Nextdoor a long time ago where they did a 1920s theme with a murder mystery scavenger hunt. It looked like a ton of fun.
Your party sounds so fun! Keep us posted on the details. I haven't been to a theme party since college, but they are always so much fun!
