We're moving this weekend!

We are moving this weekend and we are so excited to be in our brand new place!
This will be our first official move as a couple (with both of us moving - not just one in with the other) and we are pretty excited about it!

What was one of the first things you did in your first "couple house"?

Anything you wish you had organized for moving day that you didn't? Any tips, tricks, advice would be appreciated!

we bought our house when we were engaged and then worked on it for a month before moving in. So we moved our stuff over in pieces and there were constantly other people over helping us paint, move or fix things.

I think it was the "move day" were we actually started bringing clothes in and assembling things where it really hit us. We were both sitting on the floor putting together something and we said wow its just us now, no one else is here, its home. 

so no real advice but congrats!!!!

I had a lot of time to plan our move and the best thing I did was label boxes VERY well.  Of course half way through I got lazy and just starting throwing things in boxes but it was very helpful when we needed kitchen stuff to look for the box labeled "kitchen stuff" as opposed to opening up 80 boxes.  So for moving day advice - Pack good and label better.

As for the first things we did - we had soo many project to do the first few months were less than enjoyable.  Accomplishing things together in your new home will be so rewarding though - picking out paint, deciding what faucets to choose, picking out window treatments, etc.

It all went really well - we had lots of help so that was also easier!

It is freakishly quiet, you're right! A couple times, we've been like...hmmm...it really is JUST us, and we don't need to close the bedroom door, or whatever. It's nice!

Anyway, thanks for your advice!
