Hubby and I are going to Orlando for an adult only trip. We have a travel halfday and aren't sure if we want to spring for park tickets for Disney or Universal or Sea World when we can't enjoy it all day. What are some good halfday activities in and around Orlando? We don't mind driving a little ways if necessary.

Re: Orlando non-park activities.
When are you going ?
The Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The tickets to that are cheaper than a one day ticket and from what I hear pretty cool. It is more on the tame side of scar,y but it might be fun to see all of the guests in their costumes and it is also one of the few times to see special characters like the 7 dwarves, Jack Sparrow ( I think ) and some of the villains. I have also heard that the parade and fireworks at the best ones of the year.
If you like the outdoors and swimming, consider Wekiva Springs State park. You can swim and rent a canoe. The spring fed waters are the same temperature year round around 68 to 72 degF.
Winter Park has cute shops, great restaurants and the Morse museum that has a lot of Tiffany stained glass and jewelry.
Airboat ride on the St Johns River.
Downtown Disney for clubs, restaurants, shops.
