After talking about it last night and me being frustrated by my ObGyn not even willing to do more testing until I hit a certain bmi, Dh and I have decided to move on to an RE. I meet their bmi requirements for everything but ivf. So I called and scheduled our first appointment for October 9th which is actually our anniversary. I'm nervous but excited at the same time to finally hopefully establish a plan that's more proactive.

I know this has been a thread before but any advice on key questions I should ask is appreciated.

TTC since March 2012 w/irregular and anovulatory cycles.  
Moved to an RE October 2013  HSG- All clear , S/A- Normal , Bloodwork -Normal
Uterine polyp found-  Hysteroscopy and D&C 12/6/13  DX w/complex endometrial hyperplasia
Endometrial Biopsy 3/21/14 - Hyperplasia still present  Endometrial Biopsy #2 6/24/14 - All clear!
IUI #1  w/stims and trigger - Started stims 7/7/14 - IUI 7/24/14 = BFP 8/7/14
Beta #1 8/8 - 47  Beta#2 -137  Beta#3 - 96 Beta#4 -287 Beta#5 -519 Beta#6 121 = early miscarriage 5w4d

    the first appointment they're just going to discuss your history and ask you a lot of questions. after that you'll start all the bloodwork and testing.

    I'm excited for you.  

    At our first appointment we talked about health history, how long we'd been trying, what we had done as far as monitoring, ST frequency, etc.  Then the bloodwork and U/S appointments were scheduled.  

    I was really nervous (like I went to the bathroom and cried a number of times throughout the day), but it was a really positive experience.

    Good luck to you! I have high hopes. I've thought your OB was kind of a jerk for belittling all your amazing progress. I think this is definitely a step in the right direction!

    At my first appt, we just went over history and things like that.  Then they did bloodwork and an u/s.  I am glad you are taking a step forward!  Good luck!!

    I can't believe your OB would still keep you in a holding pattern after you've lost 80 freaking pounds! It was definitely time to move on!

    GL at your appt; I'm really glad you were able to get one quickly and I hope the fact that it's on your anniversary is a good sign of things to come.

    First off, lots of luck with the RE. Hopefully they will set you on a great path to a baby very soon.

    Second, ditto PP. I was basically just asked history stuff and then set up appointments for testing and had blood work drawn right then.

    Good luck with the RE! I hope you guys can decide on a great plan for moving forward. I agree with PPs, your OB was unfair in not taking into account your huge progress so far. You're amazing!

    Glad you're moving forward!  The first appointment is really more for the RE to learn about you, and you will learn about all the testing.  Once you have test results, you will be able to ask more pointed questions regarding your diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan.  Good Luck! 
    Diagnosed with Severe DOR at 31 years old (AMH .14 FSH 9.8)

    Glad you're moving forward! My RE was 2 hrs away, so at the first appointment he did an u/s. He also looked at my charts. We went over history etc and he ordered an S/A for R.

    Try to bring a copy of your medical records. The first appointment is usually just background and scripts for testing. Also, if you have any questions write them down because you will probably be too overwhelmed to remember to ask them.

    I'm so excited for you! I see no reason why you shouldn't move on with testing since you've lost so much weight!

    I didn't really ask any specific questions at my first appointment for testing. I guess I got lucky though in that my doctor really explained everything in detail first. Hopefully you'll leave with a plan!

    Yeah, they say a 10-20% decrease is enough to start generally. And I'm betting 80lbs is more than enough
