I'm on day 3 of furloughs from the gov't shutdown - I AM GOING NUTS!  With going to NC last weekend, I haven't been to work since last Thursday.  I will have lost weight for all the work outs, and have the cleanest house when this thing is done.  I almost wish we had kids so I could say "at least I'm spending more time with the kids".  Nope, it's just me, the pup and lots of library books.  I'm pretty sure H will kill me by the end of all this.

I desperately need to wash my hair today. However, I hit snooze for another 20 minutes, sprayed the heck out of my hair with dry shampoo and put it up in a bun.

Walking the dog this morning took precedence to getting to work on time. I was getting ready to leave this morning and she gave me the saddest look. I just couldn't resist spending some time with her.  

And yes, I realize my confession is lame. My life is boring these days.

I confess that I've been totally slacking at work lately.  For the last two weeks, I've been working on reconciling the same month, when it should have only taken me two to three days max.  I'm busying myself with looking at pinterest, online shopping, planning my birthday party - pretty much anything but actual work!  It's really bad!!

Also, I got eyelash extensions and clip in extensions over the last week.  Partly because my hormones are messed up and I've been loosing hair, but also because I really do like the way it all looks.  I'm just not telling that last part to H!  :-$

@mana8503, you are welcome to come and clean my house, it is a disaster zone right now because I can't seem to find the energy to clean. The laundry is done and the dishes are clean, so I really just need someone to sweep/mop/vacuum! Oh, and clean the bathrooms!

My confession.  I HATE being called anything but my full first name.  More and more people lately are calling me by a shortened version, and it drives me crazy.  I've been thinking about putting a Facebook status about it, but I don't want to offend H's family.  I met H through his sisters and they have always called me the nickname and I've always corrected them.  They've pretty much told me they don't care.  The rest of his family followed his sisters by calling me by the nickname.  The family, other than H's parents, have never been told I don't like it.  When H told his parents, they immediately began calling me by my full first name and apologized.  MIL offered to tell the rest of the family and I said no, but I should have said yes.  I feel like I will offend a relative if I put up a status.  Coworkers have begun calling me this nickname and I want to scream!  It really, really bothers me. 

ETA- I always know someone who truly knows me because they only call me by my full first name.  People who don't really know me just assume I like the nickname.

Now  I'm curious what your real name is.  I know a friend that only likes to be called Jennifer, and it's so hard not to call her Jen.  It's funny, I know when someone truly knows me and calls me Mana instead of Amanda.

My first name is Samantha.  Many people call me Sam and I really hate it.  I think every knows Sammy is off the table completely, but there is one friend who calls me Sammy Blue Jeans. It is a joke from when I worked with her husband at the Gap in high school.  She is just too dense to realize the joke was over when we were 17 and she should stop calling me Sammy anything.

@sjs1013 My name is Heidi and I get absolutely furious when people call me Heidi-ho.  I get it all the time!!  My grandma always calls me Heidi-ho and I used to dread walking into her house.  I've gotten over it with her but when anyone else says it it just grates my skin.  I usually respond by saying, "Hey Skank,"  lol!

Y'all are funny!  At least your nickname isn't min (pronounced mean).  My first name is Yasmin, so my parents and my brother call me min.  My friends would always ask why they called me mean and it was so annoying!  I'm used to it now.

I've also gotten Meany, Yasminey Weany, Ming, Yas, Yasser.  The list is endless, really.

@seipel12- at least it's not Jeannie Weenie or jeannie beanie. The weenie was more common since it went with my maiden name starting with a W and looking like weenie.
My name is Jeanne and I pronounce it as Jean but as a kid everyone called me Jeannie since they couldn't figure out how to pronounce my name.

Since my name is Evan, my friends always used to call me guys names such as Bob (...) for a joke.  It was kind of funny, looking back.  Lol

@Seipel12 - those boots are super cute!  I just bought a pair of black suede ones and I can't wait to wear them.  I'm a bit of a boot wh*re! lol!  I have about 10 different pairs and I'm always looking for new pairs.  I wear them every day during the fall/winter.
