I met my reading goal yesterday! I've always been a reader, but I'm not sure I've read 50 books in a year since first grade when I won the award for reading the most books (I read 106).

AND I did it while taking my heaviest courseload yet and working fulltime.

I also posted this on Facebook because I'm a shameless AW.

I ate at Chipotle for the first time last week with some co-workers.  I have eaten there 3 times since then.

Chipotle is the best food you can get in under 10 minutes (at least in the suburbs/areas without food trucks). I swear I eat there at least once a week.

That's awesome! I don't think I am going to meet mine this year so I'll just see how far I can get.

 

I think I am going to skip the gym tonight to play a little catch up on my DVR. Too much good stuff that I like to watch.

I have to pee but I am alone in the office today.  I hate having to lock up the office just to go down the hall to pee.  So I am holding it as long as I possibly can.  I may even start the pee/pee dance.

My kid is 10 years old today and I'm in my feelings about it. She's so tall and beautiful and smart and perfect. I can't believe how long she and I have been, she and I. 

Here come the boo hoos again.

One of my closest friends is a current coworker, and she is older than my father and her daughter is 6 years older than me (I just met her yesterday, and she's fabulous, too).  Most of my friends are in a 5-7 year span up or down, though.

I always kind of wonder when it stops being weird that you have friends your parents age.  There are several women that I get along really well with that are 10-20 years my senior.  We aren't super close or anything, but could be if we wanted to be.  I just always assume they think I'm too young or something.  I mean, I'm 31 that's not young anymore!  At least for the friend argument.

Our anniversary is tomorrow.  We had reservations in the city tomorrow night and a (surprise for DH) segway tour planned for Saturday.  Instead we will be going to the wake and funeral for my aunt.  Not cool, universe, not cool.  (And I will add that my aunt has been very sick for a very long time so her passing is a blessing and she is now polka-ing in heaven with my uncle.)

One of my best friends is 20 years older than I am.  She has been a mentor to me since I was a teenager.  I remember crying on the phone to her about boyfriend issues in college.  (I could always talk to my mom but I worried more about my mom worrying about me than my friend worrying about me, if that makes sense.) Now that I'm an adult and a mom, our relationship has changed in that she can also come to me and we're more on even ground.  Audrey calls (or will) her Auntie Ronda and she has babysat A (and my MIL never has).  I think friendships come in all shapes and sizes!

I woke up two hours ago, I'm still in my PJ's.  I plan to do as little as possible today, I just got off of a long and stressful work week ( I work shift work) and all I want to is read my book, watch tv and relax.  I'm totally ignoring my messy house and those dishes waiting to go in the dishwasher.

@Packfan20 Sorry to hear about your aunt.

I'm really excited to go to the library book sale but I can't go until my brother gets here to pick some things up for my mom. He is notoriously late and I am getting annoyed. I keep picturing the piles of books getting smaller and smaller!

On an unrelated note, I have some water stuck in my ear and it's slowly driving me insane.

When this happens to me I lean forward from the waist then tilt my head sharply to the direction of the water and shake.  It's a little weird to describe, but it usually works.

@SnShne322 I've always had friends older than me and so does mh. In fact one of the two groomsmen J had for our wedding is the same age as my dad.

I only use small spoons. I hate regular sized spoons and refuse to use them. However I only use dinner forks never

I'm beyond swamped at work today. Like scary swamped. Yet here I am, talking about it on NBC instead of working.

My house is so messy that I don't even want to go home at the end of the day. I'd rather pay and rent a nice tidy hotel room then go home and become overwhelmed by my house (and fracking dog hair).

I have Me Before You that is due back at the Library today...there is no way I am going to finish! I kinda feel bad that the next person in line is going to have to wait longer to get it but at the same time, i'm like eh they will get it soon enough (I should finish it tonight hopefully!).

P.S. I am loving this book!!!

I usually put a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide in my ear and it usually helps!  you have to lay down for a bit though.

I hope you don't think I think it's weird to have older friends, just I wonder when the age gap becomes a non issue? I mean I've been friendly with people my parents age, but usually our interests were different.  I was worrying about what so and so said about me in French class vs. working/parenting/whatever.  We just weren't relatable until the last 5 or so years, you know?

Side note, relatable is a word, right?  Google says so, but Firefox doesn't.

Not weird, just surprising for me since we're such good friends and this is the first time I've had a really good friend be 26 years old than I.

I often wonder how old I will have to be before I stop saying "sir" and "ma'am" to "grownups".  Anyone vaguely older than me fits into that category and I find myself saying "yes ma'am" to the checker at the grocery store like I'm five.

Whenever I buy Bachman pretzels, I make hearts out of the whole pretzels I find in the bag. I have about a 75% success rate and not biting through and breaking them in half.

They are best mixed with the regular chocolate M&Ms too.

Yup-the Thin & Right ones. Regular pretzels are too thick. I'm a little weird, I know.
