On our honeymoon in Mexico, the hotel people would only recommend American restaurants to us -- Johnny Rocket's, Hard Rock, etc. which was beyond frustrating.  So we started following the front desk people when they would go on lunch breaks, and found some of the most amazing little places inside the town where we would have never gone.  A few of them didn't even have signs.  On our last day, we walked the neighborhood for an hour looking for a taco place we'd gone on our first stalking expedition, and I swear it disappeared.
