One year anniversary :) How was your cake?
So, last night was our anniversary. H took me to Tavern on the Hill, a fancy place about 1/2 hr away. I wore my bridal shower dress, which I love but it's cream so I only wore it once (everywhere fancy we go is wedding related...so white, cream etc. are off limits) and he had never seen it before. I also wore- my wedding shoes, pearl necklace he got me as a wedding present, and my emerald earrings. All of these thing I had only worn once at our wedding b/c they are so special to me. I will start wearing the necklace and earrings more now though. Shoes I think are reserved for anniversaries though. For presents he got me a gorgeous bouquet made of stargazer lilies (just like my wedding bouquet!) and a card (we agreed this counted as paper, and we also decided to not do big gifts b/c we have some expensive house projects on the horizon)...but I bought him a cute outfit to wear and put the tags in a love letter as "paper" ha! We did cards at the restaurant. When we got home we took out our cake!!! (it had been defrosting since sunday) I was so nervous to open it but it looked good with the exception of a little smushed frosting. luckily it tasted great too!!! not like year old cake. AND my dad had written a cute note on the top of the box because he was the one who took the cake when we went on our honeymoon 4 hrs after our wedding finished. We used our cake cutting set and put the topper back on too.
So...how was your year old cake...if it made it that long?
if not, when did you eat the delicious cake taunting you from your freezer?
(honestly, if we didn't have a chest freezer in the basement that i forget exists...ours wouldn't have made it!)

Re: One year anniversary :) How was your cake?
And I posted about this earlier, but that year-old defrosted cake was surprisingly tasty.
