Makeup recs(foundation for oily skin)

I have really oily skin and have always had issues with foundations staying and not just sliding off or getting cakey.

I have been using revlon colorstay for probably 10 years. It's not perfect but the best I have found that stays well.

Unfortunately it looks like they changed the formula and it is terrible on me. I'm going to see if I can find any random old bottles but if not I desperately need to find a new foundation. I am pretty much out of my old one.

Anybody have similar issues and have any recs? I used to have bad skin and needed heavy coverage but I actually think I could get away with less now. However usually the lighter coverage doesn't have staying power. I've tried primers before to help and haven't found anything that really has.

Ugh! I hate foundation shopping!! I have tried so many things in years past. Everything always seems to just melt off my face or looks bad.

  • I have oily skin too.  I use bareminerals and a physicians formula powder primer.  The thing that seems to help the most is using the clarisonic.   I've really noticed a decrease in oil since I started using it.

Yeah I love my clarisonic! It has cleared up my skin completely but still oily.

I've tried bare minerals about 10 or so years ago and they did not seem to work for me at all. I so bought in to the infomercials and wanted it to work. Oh and there was another brand I tried a few years after that. Another infomercial and it didnt work either.

My two favorites are Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and Makeup Forever Mat Velvet. Withe the Tarte, I definitely recommend getting the brush, QVC usually runs a combo, but you can also get it at Ulta and Sephora. The MUFE Mat is only available at Sephora. They are pricey but I only have to buy it every 5-6 months. Also, have you ever tried to use a primer under your foundation? It can really help

Thanks Kris. I have heard some recs for MUFE so was going to check that out.

I have tried a few primers. I have used the infamous smash box photo finish and hate it. They used to have an oil absorbing matte one that helped but then I couldn't find it. I just looked and it looks like they have a similar one back now. Maybe I'll check that out.

I've tried a couple others but can't really remember what now!
