Vaccines- vent

is anyone else extremely annoyed with all the vaccine/flu shot talk on FB? every day it is "you are horrible if you get it" or "horrible if you don't get it" blah blah blah. This is usually followed by a statement that has no scientific basis or is wrong based on what I have read. 

no purpose... just needed to vent.

ETA- how do you handle these issues?

head in the sand, throw spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks. Actually I call my friend at the CDC and see what she says. Some years she has advised against it most years she's for it.

What did she say this year? I'm just curious.

That's one friend that has a basis to talk about this stuff!

I have yet to see the flu shot topic show up in my FB feed.

I haven't asked her this year. There was one year that the shot wasn't going to be as effective and I can't remember why. Since John nor I were high risk she didn't think it was necessary. She didn't get it that year for the same reason. I know that's vague, but it's all I can remember.

I have a few friends who are extremely anti vaccine and post about it constantly.  I try to ignore it but someone made a comment directed toward me in one of their posts and tagged me in it... that fired me up.

I should have been clearer that the "you are horrible" meant people in general... not me directly.  Those things I ignore but this time I couldn't.

I'm sorta "meh" on the flu vaccine (personally), but I support vaccinations overall.  I think I have had the flu vax only twice and it's because I happened to be at the doctors for a regular physical. 

I really wish that they'd come up with a vax for a sinus infection. I had one of those bad boys back in the spring and I remember sitting in serious pain in the parking lot of the doctor's office thinking, "if I could only rip off part of my skull, I might feel a little better."
