How much does it cost monthly for people without insurance?
Re: Obamacare
I don't know. But, DH's employer, a major airline, just sent out notification since the health insurance enrollment period is approaching, that if the employees don't use the employer-sponsored plan and they don't use the stuff via ACA, then they will have a "modest" tax penalty in 2014, but that that penalty will increase six or seven times by 2016.
It irks me. Most families/people will want health insurance but there are people in this nation for whatever reason do not want to buy health insurance. They don't want it. But now they are forced to get it.
Aside from some moral imperative (don't commit murder) or safety issue (obey speed limits), it isn't the government's job to mandate who buys health insurance.
Most of what I'm hearing is for those who buy their own insurance, the exchange rates are cheaper than what they are paying now for the same coverage. But that's gonna vary a lot by states, and many have dragged their feet on setting up exchanges.
