NT Scan was today w/ results

My results as the Genetic's Dr said, passed with flying colors based on BW, scan and age. I'm 1:1200 for Downs and 1:35,000 for trisomy 18. Baby was very active. For some reason I kept calling it a he even though we have no clue what it is.

they also said based on today's measurements I'm measuring earlier than initial measurements and they wanted to change me due date from 4/23 to 4/13 based on LMP or 4/15 based on measurements. Based on my chart 4/23 is accurate and I was dead on with DS as well. But makes me wonder, my cm and everything was whacky, I o'd earliest I had since stopping bcp so the only thing that really confirms the 4/23 is temp shift which I guess is not completely impossible for it to have not shifted right away, just unlikely that it waited more than a week. Things that make you go hmmmmm

So what do you think? Should I consider my date based on my ff o date or based on measurements which puts me at 14w1d today instead of 13w?

  • I'm glad it went well!!

I'm not sure what I would do about the dd issue

  • I'm glad it went well. I would go with the dd that your doctor's office is using since they will treat you as that far along.

  • Thanks ladies! And thanks for the advice @TinyTRex321

I really hope I don't deliver on my son's 2nd bday. I don't know why that thought bothers me so.

  • Yea I would go off of the docs measurements as well. Later on I know they can vary in measurements but if they think it's significant enough to change I would go with their date. Especially if they are going by that regardless. LMP dates mean nothing to me but measurements are different.

Also, so glad everything looks good!!

  • Sounds great! The only hesitation is have going with LMP or measurements is they also can be off and since it pushes your due date up by a considerable amount, I'd be afraid they'd want to induce earlier than necessary if it came to that.

  • That is a good concern @bobcee  I really don't want an induction. I want to go in to labor naturally. Provided it doesn't last 2-3 days like it did with my other two.

I would go by the dd that the doctor is using, especially if they are saying the baby is measuring that.

I am going for a dating u/s next week and will go by whatever they tell me, even if it does not match up with my o date.

  • @Whippet8, my initial dating u/s I had at my 1 pn appt was dead on with the date I had. It's the Genetic's MD today that said I was measuring ahead. But I see what you are saying. :o)

  • gotcha. My o date and lmp date are two weeks off, so there is quite a discrepancy, haha.

This was me too, which is why I completely ignore LMP dates. The first due date they gave me was over the phone and it was just based on LMP to give a gauge to start with.

My MIL still thinks "that original due date is probably the right one" even though everything since then has matched perfectly to my current due date. U/s measurements, fundal height, everything. She just wants him here earlier and I can't say I blame her but I'm not going to sit her down to explain that I know when I O'd and we dtd. Lol LMP is a total guess IMO unless you are textbook regular and know it.

S always measured ahead, at one point 3 weeks ahead and they never changed her due date. She was born right on time.

  • At 14 weeks, measurements are extremely accurate. I would go with that, personally.
