when the roosters are crowing....

....and the cows are spinning circles in the pasture....

Anyone?? My favourite series of movies growing up! So ridiculous!

How's everyone's Mondays going?
Any exciting weekends?

We had a pretty lazy weekend which was nice. There was a lot I wanted to do but doing nothing was also nice for a change.

Re: when the roosters are crowing....

  • Echo: I had to cheat and look up the quote but I do love these movies.

Morning! Nothing too exciting this weekend for us. H got the lights wired up for the landscaping. It looks nice! And he got the pool closed, wohooo! I made some Christmas cards and had a minor breakdown... H is in a wedding December 6 in Mexico. We knew this awhile ago book a flight to leave Sun, Dec.1 and return Sun., Dec.8. I knew that Christmas was going to be tight since I would have 2 less weekend to shop, bake, decorate, etc. What I didn't know or look up is that Thanksgiving is Nov.28. OMG!!! We are hosting Thanksgiving this year. So I clean, cook and have everyone over. Pack and de-decorate the house, go to H family Thanksgiving and the next day get on a plane for Mexico! Crazy!!!! H calmed me down and told me everything would get done. HAHA! He also told me to stop it since I get to go to Mexico!! :)

O and the Bills WON!!! So it was a great weekend. We Squished the Fish!!!!

  • I do not know this movie, sorry.  :(

We had a low key weekend also. I worked Friday and Saturday evening so we didn't do anything. I spent all day Sunday studying and finishing my paper. I have to spend my evening tonight studying for my psych test tomorrow. So many tests going on right now! I had an A&P lab quiz today. I did alright, not as well as I'd hoped, but better than most of the class. Most of the class failed. There were 2 girls crying after the quiz.
I've been really stressed out with everything going on. I feel a little bit better after the quiz today. I know more what to study for our test next Monday now.

Echo - Sometimes lazy weekends are the best!
Degrea - I would have freaked out, also! That all sounds crazy to me!

  • Good Luck with the rest of the test JLQ!! I remember getting so upset that I cried over a test. It was in my room in private though. I remember thinking that maybe engineering wasn't for me. Stupid Calc 3, actually stupid professor. He was terrible!!!

  • Oh calc. I failed Calc 2 (well I got a D) and had to retake it, but when I retook it I had a way better professor and got a B. There were several times I almost changed my major from physics because it was so hard. I cried, but never in class.
I'm not going to lie, these  classes are really intense. And some of the programs are really hard to get into. Penn College has a really good Physicians Assistant program, but they get like 1,000 applicants each year, the only let like 300 in for pre-program, 100 get selected for interviews, then they only let like 50 into the program each year. It's crazy! The nursing program is really hard to get into, also, but it's one of the best in the country. So if I was going for PA or Nursing, I might cry too if I failed a quiz.

  • Man I posted and never came back!! It's been a good day here!! I know my daycare adventures are not very exciting but despite everyone being sick today has been amazing! I even got just over an hour to myself today!! Yes!!!

Somedays I miss school....I like learning a lot! I should read through my books. I have a degree in theology so it wouldn't be like reading math equations or anything.
  • I don't think my brain can soak up anymore information!

Echo - I also like learning. Sometimes I tell people that and they look at me funny. I think learning new things can be fun!
What made you want to get a degree in theology?

  • Insanity is what made me do it. I did a year of nursing and knew it wasn't for me. About a year before I had a real change in my faith life and it became something much more important to me than it had been and I wanted to explore that. In one of my first classes they defined theology as faith seeking understanding and that's what I often refer back to when people ask me why theology. I had the faith but I wanted the understanding. I had no end goal in mind - no related career aspirations. There isn't really many places a degree in theology leads one. I worked for a church for 3 years as a Coordinator of Youth Ministry before having ds. Now I have my degree and I stay home and raise my kids and other peoples :)
