Insurgent help (sp)

Allegiant comes out tomorrow and I can't remember what happened in Insurgent.  I don't really want to re-read it because I remember not loving it but I'm excited for Allegiant!

Help! Remind me!

  • I was planning to ask this exact question today for the exact same reason.

  • I had a hard time following what was going on WHILE I was reading Insurgent. I remember nothing. I loved the first book SO much. But was very disappointed in the second. I probably won't even read the third. (Unless the reviews are amazing). I think I'm the odd one out here! ;)

  • I just remember lots of jumping around.  First she was in one faction, then 2 pages later, she was in another faction.  She didn't have a gun, then a page later, she had a gun.

It ended with a video showing a women.  Was it her grandmother?

The video/ending made me think of M. Night's "The Village".

That's exactly what I was thinking about the ending!  I hated The Village so much and I got nervous to see what happens in Allegiant.

I'm not any help for what happens other than I remember getting annoyed..a lot.  I'm still going to read Allegiant though.

  • I just plan on reading Allegiant without rereading Insurgent. If I get confused, I'll figure it out later.

  • Some people ran from one building to another for seemingly no reason.

Tris acted like an ass to Four.

A lot of people with names I can't remember were introduced and then killed.

  • Yes @Greenbride! I said the same thing when I finished Insurgent. It was just like the Village.

Basically you learn that this is all like a test group going on. There is a normal world beyond their factions that doesn't have factions, rebellion, etc going on.  And yes- it was a family member who was in the original plan to come up with the idea of the factions.

Book 2- dragged, got confusing and then finally got exciting come the end. I definitely won't reread.

This was the most annoying part for me.  I stopped paying attention to any but the main characters because of it.  There were SO MANY.

Thank you @myJunegirls for the recap, though.  I had completely forgotten about the entire main premise of the ending, and also had no intention of re-reading.

I had to read both the divergent and insurgent recaptions! Thankfully I remembered they were out there on the inter webs before I did a reread on both books!

I agree. I kept getting confused with who people were. Hopefully the new book will give enough context so we can get it.
