Can we talk Christmas shopping?
1. Has anyone started?
2. How many people do you buy for?
3. Do you have a budget for each person or just spend "what feels right"?
4. Do you wrap as you buy?
5. When would you like to be done by?
6. Online or in the store?
Re: Can we talk Christmas shopping?
The Rowdy Roberts
I haven't bought anything yet, but I have lists started and budgets have been made.
2. How many people do you buy for?
Both of the kids of course. I usually get my parents a calendar from shutterfly with the kids pictures, and maybe something else small. Greg's dad and step mom don't want us or SILs buying them anything. Gift cards for my grandparents, it's just more of a thank you for all that you do for us all year, they don't want gifts either. We do polyana for all the kids on Greg's side because there's so many of them.
3. Do you have a budget for each person or just spend "what feels right"?
I have a general budget for the kids. A's gifts are getting more and more expensive, so to make his pile a little bigger sometimes I'll go back out to get more. So he's in my "what feels right category". I try to keep M's number even with A's but he's so little it doesn't really matter at this point. Last year it was pretty even. Everyone else I have a set budget.
4. Do you wrap as you buy?
I did last year for the first time ever, and I do have to say it felt really weird. Every other year I wait until Christmas Eve after the kids are in bed, drink wine, listen to Christmas music and wrap all night. Everyone else's gifts I usually wrap as I buy.
5. When would you like to be done by?
I plan on actually buying presents the first week of November. I want to be finished the kids main gifts by December. Everyone else, and stocking stuffers, I don't have a time frame for.
6. Online or in the store?
I usually do the bulk of everything I can online. Then I pick up odds and ends at the store. Stocking stuffers are done at the stores.
2. How many people do you buy for? not including Stu's family, 8
3. Do you have a budget for each person or just spend "what feels right"? No strict budget, but not too over board either.
4. Do you wrap as you buy? Not normally, but I'll wrap in big batches
5. When would you like to be done by? Mid Dec
6. Online or in the store? Both! Def appreciate free shopping deals online though
2. How many people do you buy for? 14 ish
3. Do you have a budget for each person or just spend "what feels right"? I have a general idea how much I want to spend. I usually go over with the kids. The nieces and nephews all get gift cards now.
4. Do you wrap as you buy? I try to, but usually I wrap all PA presents then NC presents...
5. When would you like to be done by? Mid-december
6. Online or in the store? Stores, I'm just getting into this whole online shopping thing.
