Halloween is next week!
1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
Vellichor: The strange wistfulness of used bookstores
Re: Wacky Wednesday poll
2. Favorite costume ever will require some more thought. My favorite that DH and I ever did was Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky (back in the day, obviously)
3. We are not the toothpaste house, but we also haven't bought our candy yet, so I'm not sure what we'll get. I like to get Baby Ruths at Halloween because I think a whole one is too much, but the fun size one are amazing and Halloween is the only time I ever have them.
Sugar & Spice
I'm dressing up as Hulk Hogan for my gym's Halloween workout on Friday, but aside from that we have no plans to do anything or dress up.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
When I went as Mia Wallace. That was fun.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
We live in a gated complex. Not really a place people trick or treat.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
Follow my SK blog as I reread the entire SK library (again!):

My favorite costume was completely scandalous. A leotarded devil in fishnets that I wore out to the bar in college. It was awesome and I'm glad I had the guts to do it once.
Childhood, I remember being little red riding hood in a legit red wool cape and hat with a wooden basket.
I'm getting zero candy since we're not planning to be home but I will probably get two little books for our neighbor girls for All Hallows' Read.
Izzy and Baby A ~ Adorable Punks
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) I dressed up as Cruella DeVil one year. That was fun!
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We won't be home. Hopefully we won't get egged.
1. We don't dress up, and the dog won't let me put a costume on him.
2. I went to a Halloween party in a Star Trek uniform one year. We then hit the bars. I have never been more hit on (granted, by nerds, but hey!).
3. We don't know yet. Both of us are dieting, so we don't want candy in the house. In years past I've given away Play-doh, which was a hit. DH also suggested getting light up necklaces to hand out.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) One year I dressed up as Princess Jasmine, who I loved as a kid.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We have a handful of caramel apple suckers, on the small chance we get any trick-or-treaters.
2. Hmmm...I think I'm gonna go with the year DH and I were Santa and the Tooth Fairy.
3. I think I'm going to go all Pinterest and make a pumpkin with suckers sticking out of it.
52 Books in 2014??

My sweet babies:

2) What was your all time favorite costume? Hm. This wasn't with DH but an ex and I went as Mario and Princess Peach one year. It was too cute.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Not totally sure yet. I want to create little goody bags, but if I'm going to do that I need to get on that pretty soon.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) My sister used to have a huge halloween party in her old barn every year and she had a couple of friends that dressed up as the "Nightmare before Christmas" couple (the guy even had stilts) They were so spot on and perfect with their costumes.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) I still need to find out what day and time trick or treat is and purchase my candy. But I will be giving out full size Hershey, 100 Grands, Butterfingers, snickers, Milky way, Baby Ruth, Crunch, M&Ms, Kit Kats, Twix, and Reeses.
Sugar & Spice
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) Hmm.. Last year I was Juno, which was fun. I always loved my costumes when I was little too.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Not sure. We're taking DS trick-or-treating at my parent's house, and then he'll be going to bed when we get back (by 7), so we'll most likely have our lights turned off so the doorbell doesn't wake him up. We usually only get the girls from across the street anyways. Our side of the street doesn't have a sidewalk.
1) What are you/your LO/your SO/your whoever dressing up as, if you're dressing up at all?
I have until Saturday to decide on a costume and buy it and I have no time to buy it and not a lot of money to spend. I'm doomed to be that person at the party who didn't dress up. DH is going as Bobby from Supernatural (TV show). He's been growing the beard and just had a few things to buy.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.)
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)
1) The kids are dressing up as Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. So cute!
2) My favorite costume is a punk rocker when I was 7 or 8. I got to put purple spray stuff in my hair.
3) We probably are going to leave our light off because we are going to be out with the kids. Before you flame me, I think I've earned it because I've given out candy every year that we've lived at our house prior to last year! That's 6 years of candy!

She has decided my husband will be Danny Zuko. I will not be dressing up.
2. I don't really have a favourite costume. If I REALLY have to dress up for some reason, I always just throw on some old ballet clothes. People always like my pointe shoes.
3. Chocolate bars. Definitely.
1. DS is going to be Spiderman. I really, really wanted him to be Draco Malfoy this year, but no dice. He's only 2 1/2 so he hasn't seen Harry Potter yet. One of these years, he will be Draco. His blonde hair is perfect for Draco, IMO.
2. I think my favorite was when I was pregnant and dressed up as a trashy hillbilly type. I wore my hair up in a bandana, a red push-up bra under my white wife-beater style tank, ripped up jeans that were rolled up with leopard print heels. I put fake tattoos all over. We went to a costume contest and I carried around an unopened PBR and put a pack of cigarettes in my bra. All while about 6 months pregnant. It was the most fun I ever had dressing up. AW: I won 2nd place.
3. We live in the country and won't have a trick-or-treaters.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) My mom made me a really awesome princess costume when I was in the 1st grade. I LOVED that thing.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) We aren't going to pass out candy this year. Our dog barks like a maniac whenever someone knocks on the door and I don't want him waking up DD.
my read shelf:
1. Claire is going to be Minnie Mouse, So is going to be Merida (from Brave), and I'm going to be a 50's housewife. MH refuses to play.
2. One year MH and I dressed up as Mrs. Robinson and the Graduate. It was fun!
3. I'm not sure yet. I plan to go to the store this weekend. And no, not toothpaste.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? My brother's GF dressed up like a loofah last year, and she made the costume herself, so bonus points there.
3) What are you passing out? Twizzlers, Three Muskateers and Twix.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) One year my brother, his friends, and I dressed up as Final Fantasy (can't remember which one) characters. I got to dye my hair green for the night. It was awesome.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?)Some gummy bears and leftover yummy organics lolipops.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Probably my unhappy camper costume.
I will have some cheezies and chocolaate but don't expect any trick or treaters.
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) In 3rd grade I went as Laura Ingalls Wilder. Nobody knew who I was but I still loved it. Looking back I was more pioneer child but don't try to tell that to 8 year old me.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) N/A. I'll be at work and DH will be going out.
my read shelf:
2) What was your all time favorite costume? (Yours or someone else's.) My favorite costume is still my Minnie Mouse costume from when I was like 6.
3) What are you passing out? (Are you the toothpaste house?) Good question. I haven't bought any candy yet.
