Death has come to your little town, Sherriff.

I thought since Halloween is this week, it's only fitting to start with a quote from Halloween
I hate scary movies, I can only watch them in the daylight, and then I need to watch something funny/happy afterwards.

Is anyone doing anything fun for Halloween? I have to work, and DH said he's not going to give out candy because last year we only had 4 kids stop at our house and we spent like $30 on candy that we just ended up eating ourselves them. haha! He has decided he wants to turn his classroom into a haunted room for Thursday, so apparently that's what we'll be doing Wednesday night.

Tonight we're going to carve our pumpkins, finally! We were going to do it a couple weeks ago but then we didn't. Guess we should now. I also need to make cookies tonight. The Medical Imaging Club is having a walking taco/bake sale on Wednesday, and I said I'd bring some cookies.

I have a big lab practical on bones this morning. Ahh!! I'm nervous. Bones are hard.

Re: Death has come to your little town, Sherriff.

  • Goood morning! We had a whirlwind tour of Texas this weekend. It was a good time and we brought a suitcase full of Texas food back. Yippee.

I am excited for Halloween. I imagine we should get a lot of trick or treaters to pass out candy to. We have a Halloween party with our small group on Wed which should be fun. I love you Hs idea for his classroom J!

Good luck on your test today.

Oh and we get to pick up our little puppy today! I think we are naming her Aspen.

  • Morning! I have no plans for Halloween. We won't get any trick or treaters. Nobody is going to walk up our super long driveway for a piece of candy. If anyone does they will get a huge handful of candy.

Good Luck on the test JLQ!

Wohoo new puppy Aggie. Love the name! What is Texas food?

  • I think the test went pretty well. We go over them right after, and I know I missed at least 5, but probably no more than 15. So I should get an A. Because he grades weird.

Aggie - Yaaa new puppy!!! I love the name choice! It's pretty original!

Degrea - Last year, DH gave huge handfuls of candy to each kid that came to our house. We even live in town!

  • Haha Degrea primarily kolaches which is a czech breakfast food. Most comparable to a Danish but really not the same. We also have good tortillas. That's it for this trip :-)

  • I'm making monster cookies today. It's been so long since I've baked, I don't know why I chose a complicated cookie to start and not something simple like chocolate chips!

  • My facebook is just blowing up with this "news" about the PA law that it's illegal to touch a woman's pregnant belly without her permission. People are saying how it's a ridiculous law. I don't find it to be at all. I certainly wouldn't want random people touching my stomach without permission. That sad thing is, this is an old PA law, it's just been brought to light because of a case on it.

  • I fully support that law! Why do people feel the need to touch a pregnant belly? I dont get it...maybe to feel the baby kick but its not going to kick in the random moment you decided to touch me so BACK OFF!!!! GRRRR

We'll hand out candy and take DS (dressed as Charlie Brown) to a few houses but I'm thinking we wont get many kids out either. It's supposed to be rainy which it was last year too and we had not a lot of kids come by.
  • Charlie Brown sounds wicked cute Echo! Also I agree that is a great law. But it is human instict to reach out and touch. Everybody should keep their hands to themselves.

  • They should! I wish I was brave enough to touch peoples belly's back but I'm too shy!

  • I support the law, too, and I've never even been pregnant! I just know when/if I am, I won't want people randomly touching me!

Echo - Obviously we need to see a picture of the adorableness that will be your son as Charlie Brown!

My arm hurts from mixing my cookie dough! I had to take it out of my stand mixer for the last 2 cups of oats and the m&m's and chocolate chips and man that's a lot to stir in!

  • Wow I think that law is ridiculous. As a law. I do not get what about bring pregnant makes people think that it is ok to invade your personal space. That is insane, but as a law Ehh I think that is silly.

  • Because he is cute

  • I guess I agree with the law because I can see how it probably came about. Probably some people were going overboard with the touching of bellies thing, and a law had to be put into affect. I'm thinking of like harassment charges and stuff.
I'm not saying I would ever use that law if I were pregnant and someone touched my belly without permission, but I do agree with it. I also hate when people touch me for no reason, though.

  • I don't think it should have to be a law. People become dumb around pregnant women. It's not ok to talk about a woman's weight when they're not pregnant and that is generally accepted by all. However when a woman is pregnant suddenly everyone is an expert and she's either too small or too big...dumb! Neither is what a pregnant woman wants to be. Tell her she's beautiful dammit!
