How was the Quarter Auction?  I was a vendor at one when I sold jewelry and had a lot of fun.  I want to go to another one sometime, but obviously couldn't this past weekend!

Re: amcourt

  • I had never been to one before so I had no idea what to expect. It was a lot of fun! I want to go to one as a participant instead of a vendor.

  • What is it?
  • What is it?

It's an auction/raffle type thing where people donate baskets of stuff. The baskets have a bid price ranging from 1 to 4 quarters. Baskets worth $1-25 = 1 quarter, $26-50 = 2 quarters, $51-75 = 3 quarters and $76+ = 4 quarters. You buy a paddle with a number on it and if a basket comes up that you want, you throw the amount of quarters of the bid price in a basket then hold your paddle up. They pull numbers like Bingo and if your number is pulled, you win the basket.

It was a lot of fun and people got some good stuff. I know the Eagles suck but one of the things auctioned off was a pair of Eagles/Giants tickets. The woman who won them only bid 50 cents for them.
