WTF is wrong with people?!?!

Yesterday, we had a showing for our house that goes off the market Thursday until March. I went to my bathroom and noticed the toilet paper roll was empty. I lifted the toilet seat and to my horror someone blew up my toliet and left a shit mark on my seat. How do you not double check to make sure everything flushed and that everything looked the way it was in a strangers home? My husband took a pic and texted our realtor and said a few words to him. (not his fault, but we were not happy about cleaning shit off our toliet).

Just wanted to see who uses the bathroom during a showing? I understand emergency's happen and when you got to go you got to go!

  • Nope, never. That's just rude. Sometimes you truly can't wait but if that's the case, make damn sure you leave no evidence! Hopefully your realtor will speak to the agent who showed the home.

  • Gross. Could it have been a child? I feel like most adults wouldn't have left that.
  • People are nasty! Unfortunately, I'm not terribly surprised. I would hope, as @MommyLiberty5013 suggested, that it was a child.
  • Occasionally when I'm showing a home a client will ask to use the restroom.
It's an awkward position to be in and I usually ask if they can wait until we visit a vacant home.
Sometimes I have pregnant clients who really can't wait, but for the most part I ask my clients to wait.
I've seen sellers put cute little ribbons around their toilet seat and lid, tying them together, as an indication not to use their toilet.

Doing #2 in someone else's home and not cleaning it properly is absolutely not ok and gross.

Yeah, there are plenty who would. You wouldn't believe the crap (pun intended) that I've seen in our public restrooms at work.  Our customers are all people who know us personally, not a bunch of strangers and we've still had sh*t on the walls, floors, top of toilet, mirror...wtf?
