pink tushy

The fur around our pup's tush is turning pink! It started that the very base of his tail was a little red. It's not a sore and it doesn't seem to be bothering him, so we've just been keeping an eye on it. It seems to be getting better, but now the fur around his bum is turning pink. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? He's perfectly normal otherwise, eating well and stool is good. Hasn't gotten into anything. I'm at a loss, it's just so strange!

This happens with lily too sometimes. Could be a bothersome flea, allergies etc
Update: I took Boom to the vet today and his anal glands were mildly impacted so they had to excise them. Luckily in a different room! They also suggested benadryl for a week as it might be a mild allergy. So we'll give it a go!
My poor baby isn't very happy with me at the moment. I can't blame him! I did buy him a toy, so hopefully he'll forgive me when I get home from work and give it to him!
