edited October 2013 in Getting Pregnant

Sorry, just remembered I volunteered to take care of this this week!!

If you have any changes to this list, wish to be removed, added, or have graduated (yay!), please shoot me a PM.

FYI: We don't want to exclude some ladies, but this is a check in for ladies who are unfortunately having troubletrying to conceive (TTTC=3T). If you've been trying for more than a year and/or have been diagnosed with any form of infertility OR are now pursuing adoption or have decided to remain childless following a 3T journey, you are welcome to join us.

Updates: Ok ladies... where are we this week? Testing, Procedures, Appointments, Adoption updates, Life updates, What's going on, Etc? Let's hear all about it!

QOTW:  If you had the opportunity to live anywhere in the world for a couple of years (let's assume it's a job opportunity), where would you choose to live? Why? If you couldn't take your SO, would you still go?

Re: 3T Check In

  • AF is due in two days and I wish it would just get here so I can get started with our iui protocol. I really have no updates yet. Next week should bring some!

  • Just realized that if we wait til the January cycle like the dr recommended, and the process is the same as the last FET, it won't happen til the end of March. Jan cycle will start the week of Jan 20. Fuuuuuck that.

I emailed the dr about starting earlier. He wants to wait til after the holidays.

I'm debating whether to fight back.

The dec cycle should start the week of Dec 23.

    I have 8 week protocols.

  • @Iloveredvino, I'd definitely stress to your doc that you don't want to wait that long. He should definitely be working with you on the timing you prefer.

@Looneylife, I'm really glad you're feeling good about taking a cycle to try naturally and getting ready to go for the FET afterward. It sounds like you're in a great place with everything moving forward.

I'm not really sure. When we had my WTF appt in September, we talked about waiting until after the holidays. I had some other life things going on and needed a break.

But, I don't need that long of a break.

They weren't closed during the holidays last year, but I don't know if he is scheduled to be away or something. I have a strong preference for a specific doctor.

ETA- when we talked about waiting til after the holidays, I thought that meant FET would be in early January, not end of March.

  • 12DPO. Had my first ever vivid dream that I got a bfp, so I decided to test this morning, even though I knew it'd be neg. Sure enough, bfn. Sucks, but nothing I didn't expect. Now I'll just wait and see. I'm super worried that these last two cycles have been a fluke and that I won't ovulate again next cycle. And I don't know if we should just wait it out a few cycles and try on our own, or just do the next injects cycle and be done with it (which means coughing up another $4k). Blah. I hate decisions.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • @Rockabye, I am soooooo hopeful that you keep ovulating like these last two cycles! I'd hate for your body to psych you out like that and leave you with no option but to go with the injects.

  • @DangerMuffin23- I'm excited for you to start.  GL!

@ILoveRedVino, I'm with @LooneyLife- Why does the doctor want to wait?  I hope you're able to work something out!

@LoooneyLife, Good Luck with your next cycle..  I'm sure it'll be a nice 'break.'

We're just plugging away, tackling the monstrous stack of paperwork that we need to fill out before our first appointment on the 13th. I am still filled with questions and things, but I also know I have to get through the next 2 weeks, so I'm trying not to think about these things yet.  I'd drive myself crazy in the meantime.

AW:  In Non-TTC news, I got approval for some time off in Dec.  We're spending 3 days in NYC in the beginning of the month (Tues-Thurs) with H's parents, younger sister, and her H. We did it last year, for a weekend, and it was his sister's and her H's first time in NYC. So fun to watch them get all excited, and we enjoyed being way more touristy than we usually are there.

I also got approved for the week of Christmas off, so I can go down to NC to be with H and his fam for the holiday.  His birthday is Christmas Eve, but with my old job, PTO was blocked from Dec- Feb, so I could never go!  I'm so excited for this!

QOTW:  If you had the opportunity to live anywhere in the world for a couple of years (let's assume it's a job opportunity), where would you choose to live? Why? If you couldn't take your SO, would you still go?

That's a really tough question.  There are so many places that jump out in my head as places I'd love to go. But for a couple of years? I think I'd maybe be lame and want to go to VA, which is where I went to college, and where a few of my closest friends and their kids live. I'd love to be a part of their lives as they grow. I'm not sure I'd go if I couldn't bring H- mostly because that would the mean putting off TTC for a couple of years, and I don't know that's something I'm willing to do at this point in my life.. Again, I'm lame.

@ILoveRedVino  I would definitely talk to your doctor about it if you don't want to wait that long and stress how important it is to you.  I hope it all works out and you don't have to wait so long!

@LooneyLife  I hope trying on your own for a cycle and taking a break from treatment will help.  Either way, I hope you get your bfp soon!

Update: Just chillin'. Acupuncture is going well. I guess it's going to get pretty intensive next week after I finish my period. Yikies. We received a letter in the mail yesterday telling us to pay up for our IVF. I flipped and left a few messages at the clinic. I called my insurance, and they had no record of anything being submitted. Efffff. The insurance reassured me that IVF approvals are about a 48 hour turnaround. Clinic called this morning to tell me that they've submitted for the approval. Phew. Not a fun night of worrying, but the RED SOX WON!

RAB, sorry about the bfn :( I hope that you continue to ovulate naturally.  Just curious,  you've been ovulating lately nd I have been wondering if you were doing anything different that would make that difference. Anything? ?

Yeah, this is my second cycle ((IN A ROW!!!!) that I've ovulated. That makes like 3 cycles in the past 5 years (not counting 2 medicated cycles that I did ovulate). Crazy! The only 2 thing I've done is that I've been consistently taking my vitamin strip packs and also have been doing NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques) over the 6 or so months and have been treated for a couple big allergies in the past couple months. I haven't even made it to the hormones yet, but who knows. That is the only 2 things I can think of that are different. Unrelated, I have noticed a big difference in my allergies, so that is a HUGE blessing to! :)
Interesting, I feel like working with my acu and getting my allergies and asthma under control made a huge difference to my cycles as well. Hopefully it's a sign of continued good things for you RAB!

  • Our depart admin was telling me one day about her daughter. She's pregnant with her second now, but it was apparently a very rough road getting pregnant with her first. She did the whole gamut of IF treatments to try to get pregnant and nothing was working.

Why? She has lupus (I think that's what she said; it was a while ago). Because she wanted to get pregnant and didn't want any extra drugs in her system, she stopped taking her medications. Lupus is an immune disorder, so without the meds, her immune system was stressed out, so her body would attack itself in various ways (I think a lot of it manifests as pain). As soon as she gave up on the IF treatments and resigned herself to not getting pregnant that way, she started taking her lupus meds again, her body got itself under control, and she got pregnant!

So, RAB, that's a really long way of saying that I hope that now that things are getting under control in your body it will continue working properly for you! :)
