NaNo checkins?

I know we've always done this on the now gone writing board.

Will this be annoying on the book board? Are there enough of us to bother?

I like this idea but I'm a NaNo-er so I'm not sure how the Non-NaNo-ers would feel.

As a non-NaNo-er I don't mind at all. I really respect anyone who enjoys writing so feel free to post as many check-in's as you want

I don't think I'd mind you guys having your check-ins here as long as it's not out of hand. If it starts to look like a NANO board and not a book club board, then maybe it can get limited to X amount of posts/day. I say go for it.

I'm not Nano-ing this year but hoping to next year since I'll be graduated by then with a lot less work to do. That said, I like seeing what you guys are doing even if I don't have anything to contribute.

I have a check in already!  I've got almost 600 words done over lunch.

I woke up early and wrote 2,024 words then went back to bed for a little bit 600 words on a lunch break is mega impressive!

I love having the check ins. It reminds me to work harder. I have about 20 words right now and those were the ones that came into my head on my way to work. I can't wait to get some time at lunch to write.

It's NaNo - skip the first sentence for now and just write whatever is in your head!

Don't get caught up on that! Start in the middle of the scene if it helps. Just get started!

I powered through and actual writing is happening!  You guys win.  Turning off the inner editor is a hard thing, though.

It's so hard to turn off the editor.  I try to just type and not fix things but I always catch myself doing it.  I'm about 500 words in now.  I'd like to get to 2k before the kick off party tonight.

So which of you are participating in the kick off events?  I'm going to mine in just an hour or so and I'm super nervous.  I'm actually making Luke go with me - I'm worried I'm going to be the only adult there.  It seems like everyone on our local board is high school/college.

This is my first kick off party and I'm beyond nervous.  My anxiety is in overdrive.  Do you write at these or just meet people?  I'm also worried about clamming up and staying in my car.

We don't have an ML to arrange things this year so we're not having a kick off party.  We're just having write-ins which we've had over the last several years.

I wrote 2,120 words today! Woot! Tomorrow it's just me and the kids for an entire day, so I'm not sure if I'll get much tomorrow, but that's okay.

Got in 381 words this morning before my BFF got in town for a visit. I'm going to try to squeeze in some writing while she's here but won't be able to get serious about it until she leaves Monday.

I think you should be able to save it to your own computer and edit in excel?
