Food Stamp Cuts by Democrats

how many people do you think know that the food stamp cuts (if you can call them cuts since it's really the expiration of a bonus stimulus hike) was put into motion and a result of Democrat policies?

Hilariously enough, just recently several Democrats staged a protest of the cuts when they in fact VOTED for them!

It just seems like the other side gets portrayed as only supporting wealthy fat cats and the Dems have gotten away with taking this money away and using it towards other pet projects without a whole lot of grief about their role in it. I'd wager you could poll 10 people as to who instituted these cuts (make it a 50/50 choice between dem and rep) and I'll guess that you'll get a 90% vote that it was the Democrats.

While I can be pretty conservative I don't consider myself a Rep. I do think they are getting a bad rap on this one and the other side is getting a free pass. Don't get me wrong, they did vote for these cuts but it was Dem. sponsored legislation and during a time when the Dems were the majority. Even more interesting is that some Dems balked but were pressured to support it by the White House and the first lady to fund her pet projects.

Re: Food Stamp Cuts by Democrats

  • I don't think it can be called a cut either since they are just expiring.  Kinda like how unemployment benefits were extended for a limited time while the economy was in despair. Republicans always get blamed as the bad guys, that's how it's always been and probably always will be.  Most likely due to liberal media.

  • Do you have voting tomorrow?  Our county is doing a prop A and a tax increase to a school district.  I'm voting no on all tax increases because there never seems to be any spending cuts. Besides, this school district opened a new high school last year and I don't think they are doing too bad at all.
