Sliding Glass Door in Kitchen

I have a sliding glass door in my kitchen and have no idea what kind of window treatment to put on it.  Any ideas??

Re: Sliding Glass Door in Kitchen

  • Is there a privacy need that is making you want to put something on the sliders? Most people don't typically dress sliding doors, but you could always use curtains or roman shades. I would stay away from the long plastic or vinyl shades, though. They never seem to last long, and they can make the space look dated.  If you really wanted, you could also get a peel-and-stick frosted glass film to put over the glass so that it blurs the glass but still lets the light get in the space.
  • Both our previous and current homes had/have a kitchen glass slider. I use a drapery rod overhead and just hang panels on the sides. They serve no privacy purpose and do not keep out any light. They just "dress" the window.
