Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Deck update

It's still not done.  They were coming out Tues then Thurs, then rescheduled to "first time Saturday morning" because of the rain.  1pm Saturday I called, and guess what?!

The parts they ordered were WRONG!  They sat there for 2 F-ING MONTHS and they weren't even the right ones.  They promised me they will fedex them and the contractor will be there right away to put them in this week.  I'm waiting for the store manager to call back... now I am asking for some compensation.  THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

  • um yeah I would be freeking out on someone right now.
  • Yea they called me yesterday, but I was enjoying a day with my mom and didn't want to get worked back up.  I'm ready now for them to call.

    I also complained on their rant or rave FB page and they said they were escalading it to the marketing director... he called and left a message refering me back to the store manager.  Wow... way to escalade it.

  • Sadly, none of this surprises me. The incompetence from almost every contractor that we dealt with for the
    past year with our pool is crazy!! From scheduling & ordering wrong parts to work ethic makes me sad. And no one cared!! I hope you get everything taken care of soon!!

     

  • @klm42404 - It sucks feeling like NO one cares.  I had to go into the store to get someone to care... then call corporate, then get the store manager involved.

  • I can't even imagine having to deal with this situation.  Hang in there, @mana8503

    I think you certainly deserve some manner of compensation.  I mean, if I could get my deck guy to give us a discount for being delayed a few weeks, you should get SOMETHING!

    @janma529 did you get a percent off or something?

    I just talked to the store manager. He was really really nice. I asked for compensation and he said he will call me after its done and will get something for us. He said he would be asking the same thing if it was his deck. So hopefully it's done this week or beginning of next week and he will hook us up. But I'm not sure what to ask for/ take.

    Yes, we did.  I believe it was 10%, which doesn't sound like much...but considering how much the whole project cost, it was a good chunk of change.

  • It's so annoying that something that was supposed to be exciting turned into a huge mess! I'm sorry :( I hope this is all over soon and you'll be able to enjoy your deck.
