New laptop

Hello everyone,
I jumped over here from The Bump. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on a new laptop to buy. I need something that I can play multimedia on like movies and simple games (nothing like those modern games) along with work and school stuff. I prefer HD graphics 1080p 15"-17" screen. My current laptop can only do up to 720p but runs incredibly slow. My current laptop is a Toshiba Satellite c655d. I'm looking for a laptop that is pretty sturdy too (no laptop hinge flex). It doesn't need to be ultra portable or a touch screen (but that would be a plus). I've been having my eyes on a custom Sony Vaio Fit E at the Sony store but I am unsure whether to buy it since I looked at the negative reviews about how the screen hinges aren't tight enough. My price range is $900 maximum. Do any of you have any suggestions?

TIA!!

Not sure if you are still looking, but I am an avid Mac user (I did have a to Toshiba laptop in college and found it to be a really negative experience, unfortunately). I am not familiar with the Sony computer you referred to, but you may want to look at stores that resell computers. You can likely find a really nice computer for a great price. Just a thought...
  • Windows Surface Pro Tablets! I debating between that and a Mac Air myself haha
  • Love my Mac Air. Super fast and lightweight.
