Re: weekend plans?

  • Tonight- cleaning my disgusting house and reading

Tomorrow- A repair man is coming because my A/C has been leaking and reading

Sunday- reading and celebrating my dad's bday.

This weekend is the last free time I have left for the rest of the year.  I plan to enjoy it.

  • Nothing fun.

Cleaning and spending time at the hospital.

  • One of the disease-ridden students has given me the crud.  I am counting down the hours before I can go home.  My weekend plans involve tea and reading.  TV, too.  Maybe yoga tomorrow if I can breathe.
  • Tonight - Painting the living room

Tomorrow - The Holiday Gallery Loop - It's a thing in our Downtown area where all the art galleries and local businesses open up with handmade goods.  Taking Wylie to the vet and then a friend is coming over for wine.

Sunday - Taking the dogs to get pics done in the morning and then nothing much else which will be nice.  I need to finish The Story of Edgar Sawtelle this weekend.

Tomorrow - At some point we're getting together with some cousins that are in from out of town.

    Sunday - Football

A nice low-key weekend, with cleaning out the garage thrown in there.

  • I just bought tickets to see Rolie Polie Guacamole with the girls at Jammin' Java.  I've never heard of them, but they are described as a "kindie" band.  Whatever that is.  I'm sure they'll have a blast, and I'll have some fantastic coffee.

Other than that, the never-ending cycle of errands since I can't do any during the week.  :(

    image
  • Hopefully a lot of reading and relaxing. I have an insanely crazy week next week, so I want to do a little as possible in preparation for that.

But, my house is in serious need of some sparkle, so I will get some cleaning and laundry done.

  • Tonight: Cleaning and laundry

Tomorrow: My mom is coming for a visit, I really need my mommy at this point so I'm so excited. We're also having lunch with one of my friends that's in town for her grandpa's funeral, then we're shopping.

Sunday: chores and more laundry and being lazy, napping and reading.

  • Reading and cleaning mostly.
Hopefully getting a bike ride in Saturday or Sunday if the weather isn't rainy.  I'll still go even if it's very cold.
I really need to start the pre-Thanksgiving power cleaning though.  It'll make it easier the week of Thanksgiving.
Oh, Saturday or Sunday I'm also going to be working on a painting of my goddaughter.  Fingers crossed that it doesn't suck.

  • Tonight: Nothing. Eating pizza, reading in a hot bath (hopefully), and watching some TV.

Saturday: Probably going for a run in the early morning, then getting some grocery shopping in before the football games start. Planning on watching football all afternoon, and then we are going out to eat for a friend's birthday in the evening.

Sunday: Church then just relaxing and reading and watching football.

My grandfather died today. And so I'm in denial and on the computer so I don't have to go through my photo albums for the memorial service. I was cleaning. And cleaning and cleaning. And crying. Idk. I feel like if I stop and look and think it will be real and I'm not ready for it.

So. Ha maybe I'll do NaNoWriMo in tonight alone. He would have loved participating. He actually wrote a book and tried for years to publish it but it never happened. I want to read it but I'm not ready for that either. He was always a reader. He loved westerns and sci-fi and recently was reading a lot of fantasy. He lost his arm to cancer so we bought him a Kindle and he was on it all the time.

I hate cancer. I'm not sure any of this makes sense and I'll probably be on later this weekend and look at this and wonder what the deal was.

Yay for the aquarium! Jack could spend all day there.

  • @mrsvedo - Thank you. ::takes all the hugs::

I keep hearing that I'll be okay, and he's in a better place, and lots of speeches about him being in Jesus' arms and all that and I'm just like stoopp people. I'm not okay, he's not in a better place, here with me was just fine. Idk, maybe I'm selfish but I just want him here instead.

I had something similar typed out until I remembered how much I hated it when people said that to me and I backspaced it all. If you need to vent/cry/reminisce/whatever, we're here, k?

Not selfish at all.  You loved him, and he is important to you.  It's perfectly normal to want him here with you.

  • Thank you @mrsvedo and @sassypants527

I don't get mad when people say those things. I know they mean well and are trying to comfort me. I'm just not ready to believe any of that I guess.

All I've been doing is venting and reminiscing. Thank you ladies. I never thought I'd find support on an internet forum but it feels good to be heard. :)

  • @booknerd226 I am so sorry. Cancer sucks. We are here to vent if you need it.
  • @fabk Thank you. I'm finally going through pictures for the memorial and I was crying and then I found one of him that was funny and I started laughing, which made me feel bad and cry even more. This really sucks.
