Are our Midwest Ladies Okay?

I'm in the midwest, and thankfully we just got hit by rain, wind, and hail.  Our neighbor's tree blew down, but it landed in their yard and didn't hit anything.  We are about 2 hours away from a larger town that got hit by a tornado.  Our close friends live there, but thankfully their house didn't get hit.  She said half the town is gone.

Luckily we just have had a windy day, and about 5 minutes of downpour. All my family is safe also.

@brij2006, are you talking about Washington? A girl I used to work with has family there, they are all safe. I've seen pictures, it looks horrible! I can't imagine having to start completely over with a home. Tornadoes and storms scare me shitless!

Crazy windy and trees down everywhere. Our power has been flickering for a couple of hours but hasn't completely gone out yet. There is a line down in our driveway but not affecting our power so I don't know what kind of line it is (maybe telephone? we don't have a landline so don't know for sure).

@blueeyedblossom  Yes, it would be Washington.  Another one touched down in Pekin too, and unfortunately we have a couple of clients there (I'm an insurance agent).  

You're in the STL area, correct?  I read that there was one in Brookport, IL that did some damage too.

As far as I've seen it's just been lots of rain and wind here. Last night was when we got the worst of it.

H and I are fine.

A tornado went from my MILs house to my Dad's house. Thankful no damage to their houses. They both loss power. My SIL is in the hospital (just had my nephew on Saturday) and they loss power. My dad had a tree branch come down, but thankfully landed in the driveway and didn't hit anything, but shot pieces all over the road. My friend had a tree got through her garage and hit the back of her bf's car.

I'm super late coming in here, but we just got our internet back about an hour ago. We had an EF3 tornado come by about 10 miles from our place, and there were long power outages in town and at our school, but there was essentially no damage for us. Just a short power outage and a long cable/internet outage, and a couple of branches on the ground. I was in the bathroom with the kitties for a while there when we weren't sure where the tornado would hit. It was pretty terrifying.

@apollo11235 I'm happy to hear that you are all doing okay.  Hopefully there wasn't too much damage in your area.

@brij2006 - Thanks, we were luckier than I thought at the time. We live in Indiana, where there were apparently something like 26 confirmed tornadoes.

Holy crap that's a lot of tornadoes!! So glad the worst you had to deal with was a brief power outage and a few days without internet.
