How was your weekend?

Hope everyone had a good weekend!  What did you do?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • It was a nice, low-key weekend!  Brian was away on his annual fishing trip with his dad Thur-Sun, then Sunday they went to the game together.  My mom came up to hang out for the weekend, so it was nice to get some stuff done around the house while she got to hang out with the boys.

We ventured out of the house Saturday afternoon...it looked like black friday out there!!  SO many people out shopping, it was kind of crazy.  Maybe because Thanksgiving is so late this year people are getting an early start?

Yesterday, we just hung out in our jammies and watched the polar express for the first time, then watched the game.

  • Friday night we just stayed in and didn't do much.   We were going to get a movie, but Noah got in trouble at school, so we didn't do that.

Saturday we went to Sam's and did things around the house.   The boys played outside most of the afternoon - it was a like a bonus day to get to be outside in a light jacket!

Yesterday, I went to the game with Walt.  Noah was supposed to go, but he lost the privilege since his gym teacher had to call home.  (Who the heck gets in trouble in gym??!)   It was wet.  But, it was an exciting game.  And my rain poncho paired with some old work boots and my wind breaker kept me surprisingly dry!
  • Emmy, the shopping was crazy here on Saturdday too. I stopped at kohls and they already had their stupid queue with roped line and there were a lot of people in line. I was so annoyed. I just needed to grab a dress for dd's Christmas pictures and didnt expect it to be so busy and it was only 11am!

It just reinforced that I prefer to do my shopping online!

  • Luckystar---that's one of the stores we went to before heading over to the mall & it was a madhouse.  we only had 2 small things to buy and when we saw the line literally wrapped to the back of the store, we left the items and ran out of there!!
    :-O

  • Not terribly exciting but that is fine because it is going to start getting busy in the next couple weeks.

Friday, we went to Plow and Hearth to get this space heater for our living room and love it! If anyone needs a space heater for their basement or a room in their house, highly recommend. The unit itself stays cool and the flames are very soothing. Then we went to dinner.

Saturday: Nathan had to work and I picked up my mom from the dealership (she realized her stickers had expired last month). We ran a couple errands. Saturday night, we just hung out and watched the DVR.

Sunday: Nathan worked at the old house which is almost done thank god! I ran to the mall and made a couple returns of stuff I ordered online, then went to Banana Republic to use my 50% off coupon, and then hit up Target.

  • Kohl's had the ropes out last week on McKnight. I was there at 10:00 am and it wasn't to bad.

Ugh what was the deal?! It wasn't even like it was that much of a sale, just same old normal kohls sales and discounts! The one side had a decent line so I checked the other side and luckily not that many. I really did not have time to stand in line but I really needed the dress!

  • Friday I took the day off so DH could go goose hunting.  He had the whole house cleaned and dishes done when I got home from work on Thursday, so Friday I had a rare opportunity to just play with the kids all day.

Saturday we bought Christmas lights and DH started putting them up.

Sunday:  Started taking DD to church with me a few weeks ago.  She goes to children's church for part of it, and when she gets back she starts asking if it's time to go--but when I threatened not taking her with me anymore she started behaving better...so she must enjoy it.  It's nice not having to go by myself.

  • Happy Monday.. said no one ever!

Amber - what was with the boys and Friday? Gavin got into trouble for talking in class, again - second day in a row, so he lost privileges of going to the play gym that evening. *sigh* We ended up just staying in and playing/watching some movie on Disney or Family or something. DH was stuck at work until real late.

Once the kids were in bed, though, I tackled bills, a pile of paperwork and got my lists together for the weekend.

Saturday, DH took Gavin to football practice and I took the other two to Target and Aldis. At 9:30a, the stores were still quiet enough, thankfully. Back home for lunch and nap and once DH got back, I headed out to Children's Place for jeans for Gavin, Walmart Grocery Store (who knew these mini Wally World's existed?!), and then for a mani/pedi/

Sunday, I spent the morning impersonating Suzy Homemaker and cleaned the whole house, did 6 loads of laundry, including stripping beds, and had made a nice breakfast and lunch / footbal munching dip. We had family photos outside at the park for 4p - it was 85 degrees and humid, making it feel like 90 - and I had us all in sweaters or long-sleeved tops. Nice. I swear I've never seen mosquitos this big.

Our reward was a drive over to Lake Conroe, about 40 minutes away, for a delicious dinner outisde on the lake at a place called Fajita Jack's. Despite the longer-than-anticipated drive, it was a nice ending to the weekend.

  • I had a really nice weekend.  Friday I cleaned the house during the day and then Keefer and I went to see Suessical the Musical at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center on Friday night.  I cannot believe I have lived in Beaver County for 6 and a half years and never knew this place existed.  It was so nice and a lot less expensive than venturing into the city for a musical.  Saturday, we went down to my parent's and Elsey and me got our hair cut and then did some shopping in Uniontown with my Mom.  Sunday, my Mom and I went to Greensburg to do some more shopping while my Dad watched the kids.

  • Friday was my friday off and I ran lots of errands. DH is in Nebraska hunting deer with his brother until Wednesday. Madi and I had a pizza and movie night.

Saturday- gymnastics and then off to my aunt's in Fairmont, WV. A family friend of hers (and ours) was having a60th bday party. Madi had a blast with my cousin's little boy dancing etc. It was great to spend time with my Aunt too. Her cancer has returned and it is not looking good. Not going to be a Debbie Downer on this monday..... so will just leave it at that. :(

Yesterday we got home about 11 and then just sort of vegged out again thanks to the weather.I so had big plans to clean out Madi's room and closet but no luck.

    Happy Monday.

  • Ours was pretty low-key!

Friday we caught up on DVR.

Saturday I had a race in the morning that we all went to.  Later on I went to the mall and we got take out and rented a movie.

Sunday we had a Christening for a family friend, watched the game and hung out at home!

  • Friday night we just stayed in and didn't do much.   We were going to get a movie, but Noah got in trouble at school, so we didn't do that.

COuld you see my boy Charlie Hunam doing towel wave?? He is I guess my guilty pleasure. Not to your level of Adam, but I do enjoy his bare bum during episodes of Sons of Anarchy. :P ;)
  • We had a sort of low key weekend, too. DH was OOT all week, and I stayed home with T on Friday because the cough with his cold sounded really bad that morning. Combined with the fact that I slept horribly on Thursday night and I had nothing pressing to do at work on Friday, it seemed like a sick day was the best course of action. As an added bonus, I was able to do some prep work for an event on Saturday, so I didn’t have to do it all after the kids were in bed.

Friday night we had the kids favorite – Mac’n’Cheese with hot dogs – and T fell asleep early (since he doesn’t nap for me) so H and I could read 1 ½ chapters of Harry Potter. DH got home just before midnight.

Saturday I had a yarn event from 11-5. I had originally planned to come home for a while in the middle, but after a week of solo parenting, I decided that lunch alone was in order. Quiet evening at home.

Sunday I had a 90 minute class to teach and DH had a few errands to run. Otherwise we were home. We spent time with kids, did laundry and dishes, DH organized lights and decorations and just general puttering. I finally got H’s clothes swapped out for the season and petted my yarn purchases from the day before. ;-)

I did see him!   He was all decked out in a bumble bee Steelers jersey!
  • We had a nice quiet weekend.

Friday - my mom took the boys & I to Beto's for dinner.

Saturday - the kids and I went to my parents for the day/evening. We played outside, raked leaves and had a nice dinner and then cake/ice cream to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Sunday - we did absolutely nothing! Worked on homework, watched movies, played games, colored, etc.

  • Some friends came over with their kids and we had dinner and the kids played. It was a nice time. They were gone by 8:30. We just watched tv and turned in early.

Casey had to go to a memorial service for a former student. Very sad. G and I hung around the house. We went to the park in the afternoon. It was such a gorgeous day.

We didn't leave the house at all yesterday. I could not muster the energy to get in the car with the weather. We watched the game. G peed on the potty for the first time. We colored and played. We had a dance party. It was a pretty great day and made dragging myself in here all the more horrible this morning.
