Our run of good sleeping has ended. Any thoughts?

First of all.  I have not been able to post from my home computer in over a week now so I apologize for my lack of participation.  I miss having all of you to get me through the day!

Dd has been doing great at sleeping though the night after starting the sticker chart.  The night we changed the clocks is the night it all went out the window.  She's been waking up every night since.  I've tried bribing with every fun prize I can think of.  She just doesn't seem to care anymore.  I am trying to wait longer until I go into her room (waiting a little longer each time).   If anybody has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.  I am tired of waking up in the morning tired and angry.  I feel like I am being taken advantage of by a 3 year old.

  • No advice, here. I've been dealing with the same stuff from G for nearly 3 months. Although he has slowly been getting better. I just wanted to offer support and say I'm sorry. I know how trying this is.

When I posed a similar question a week or so ago some ladies recommended the Ferber Method. A friend also recommended the No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers.

    Good luck!

I might give the no cry book a try. I really liked the feber book but it wouldn't hurt to get some different insight
    Good luck!

  • We were/are in same boat as you. She'd either yell for us or come to our room and pat my arm at like 3am for almost 2 years. We started letting our dog sleep with her and now at a month into that, she's never yelled or come over. She said she was lonely and scared at night so Crosby I guess helps with that.

After 2 weeks, we told her if she did it for a month then she could get her ears pierced as her friends are starting to get them done. So one more night and I have a mall trip tomorrow!

On another note, Crosby sleeping with DD means I've lost my personal space heater :(

  • I never thought about letting the dog sleep in her room.  That's great that it's working for you.  Good luck with the ear piercing!

  • No advice, but I just wanted to say that Liam was up twice last night between 8:30pm-12am, then wound up in our bed around 1am, only to stay awake for an hour crying that he wanted to go downstairs and play with play doh.  Then, the same thing happened at 4am!  He was up for a good 30 minutes crying about that.  My alarm goes off at 5:20am, so knowing that, I couldn't go back to sleep after the 4am incident.  it's going to be a loooooooooong day.

If this is the kind of thing going on every night for you, I'm sending you a huge virtual hug and an even bigger cup of coffee.
