When did you have the "Wow we're married!!" moment?

So this is kind of a continuation off of the last discussion I started, "how's married life?"  All of the responses got me wondering if maybe it just hasn't sunk home that H and I are married. I haven't really had an 'OMG' moment. We're still just us. Just as crazy in love and still completely ourselves around each other.

I guess my question is this: Did you ever have a 'Wow we're married!' moment? If so when was it?

Re: When did you have the "Wow we're married!!" moment?

  • on our honeymoon, we were eating breakfast out on our terrace and i said wow can you believe this?!  By the time we had gotten married we were together just shy of 10 years so it was something we had planned on for a long time!

  • I think for me, it was one day when I was opening mail addressed to Mrs. Husband'sLastName. DH and I have known each other for about 10 years and had been together for 7 before we got married so we had already known we were in it for the long haul, but that really solidified it for me.
?Laugh whenever you can. Keeps you from killing yourself when things are bad. That and vodka.?
  • I would say from our wedding reception, to our honeymoom, to me filing papers to have my name changed, to adding H on my medical benefits at work, to opening a joint bank account.....I had a lot of moments!

  • The first time my husband referred to me as his wife.

This was me too. Except it started imediately after the reception for us when we were all alone.

H and I even had times where we would just turn to the other and go "we're married!"

  • I'd say when I first introduced him as my husband and he introduced me as his wife. That was the "oh my gosh we're married!" moment.

Or when I realized how much time he spends in the bathroom. That was the "oh god...we're married." moment. tee hee! :)

    Wow sorry duplicates.

  • It's still happening, in little tiny bits, 8 months in. I still seem to keep having the epiphany that he's really mine, forever, and I'm the luckiest woman ever. I'm starting to wonder if that will ever wear off. I hope not.
  • We've been married for about a month, and I had mine this morning. Before work I ran down to the social security office to change my name, and when I walked out with a piece of paper that said that I have a brand new name instead of the one I've had for the last 31 years, it totally hit me. It was crazy, weird...and awesome. I've been pulling the paper out of my purse all day just to reread it, and I grin like an idiot every time.
  • The two things that solidified it for me was when 1) I got a piece of mail addressed as "Mrs" and 2) when H was talking on the phone about me and said "my wife". Occasionally I still do think how strange it is that we're married. Not in a bad way but in a, whoa, "we're really adults" way.
    Anniversary
  • At the airport the morning after our wedding I just kept asking H if it really happened, did we really get married? I was absolutely giddy.
  • A few days after the wedding I called to rent a pontoon boat for the day and I made the reservation in my new married name.  Then my husband referred to his wife when picking up the keys to the boat.  We both joked about it afterwards as being "the moment".
  • At the reception. A childhood friend's mother asked me, "How is your husband liking grad school?" I opened my mouth to tell her I didn't have a husband and ask who she was talking about. And then it all caught up with me.
  • On our honey I called for room service (breakfast) and they answered Mrs. .... How may I help you I just hit me , I screamed lol am really married omg
  • It hit me a little right after the ceremony when we walked off the grounds (we got married outdoors) and headed toward the reception hall for our receiving line. We both ended up laughing and in tears because we had a nearly 3 year engagement. But it REALLY hit me when we had asked a stranger to take our picture while we were on our honeymoon and a woman walked past us and stopped and said "Awww, they're on their honeymoon!" It still hits me every now and then and I can hardly believe we're finally married!
  • Immediately and we're still basking in it!
  • When we got back to the hotel, laid down on our bed (seriously tired...we dance all night) ! and called me his Wife! :D
