Are you happy with Obama?

Yes or No?

I had trouble starting a poll. Curious to see as many answers as possible.

I never cared for his policies. Now I can say I definitely do not like him. I think he is doing way more harm than good in this country.

Re: Are you happy with Obama?

  • No, I am not happy with the Obama Administration.  I don't care for his policies.  I voted for him in 2008 but not in 2012.

I still can't figure out if he is incompetent or nefarious.

I'm unsure of the later too. Guess we will find out. He seems to be quite passive aggressive though that's for sure.

wow, I didn't know that you voted for him the first time!  I didn't vote for him either times , but I see the appeal of why so many voted for him in 2008.  I don't care for him at all.  I don't think he is incompetent.  I believe everything he does is really what he wants to do.  I think he is a liar and our country would be better economically if he weren't in charge.

  • forgot to add that i think he is a lame duck president.  horrible leader for this country

  • I vomited (for real) when he got elected in 2008. I never liked him and I still don't...he has always seem slimy and fake to me...always pandering to the crowd. I also think he was exceptionally inexperienced as he entered Office the first time and it made me distrust him all the more when he ran for President because with so little experience, it didn't appear very humble. Also, I don't vote based on buzz words like "hope" and "change." Bleh.

dang!  that's hard core.  I did get a stomach pain when he got re-elected last year.

Yes, not my proudest moment :(  I had a friend who was in the Service Employees International Union and they were campaigning for him big time. In 2008, I did not follow politics like I do now and my friend convinced me of the Hope and Change BS.

The only good thing that came out of that experience was I decided to educate myself more when it comes to politics (when I realized I had made a colossal mistake in voting for Obama).
In 2012 I worked for the Romney campaign and even convinced my DH to vote (first time in his 46 years on earth!)

DH makes fun of me now because I can recognize most politicians just by their voice.
  • I actually didn't star becoming interested in politics until the beginning of 2008.  My dad gave me a weird look when he saw me watching Bush's last state of the union that Jan.  haha.  It's too bad this whole time I've been interested in politics to be so frustrated at the same time.  I wish we could have a great leader.

  • I can't stand Obama. I work in politics and am a Republican so I'm certainly biased, but I would have picked any other Dem over him. Somehow he has been able to use his charisma to keep people from focusing on all the horrible things he's doing to our country and its values.
  • I voted for Obama both times. I am "neutral" towards him at the moment, because while I think there are good things in the ACA, the roll-out has been terrible and there are many things that need to be fixed. That said there are few politicians I'd ever say I was "happy" with.

I'm a moderate, (socially liberal though). I'd have considered voting for McCain in 08 (bipartisan, relatively sane) but Sarah Palin shot that candidacy to hell and back. I never considered voting for Romney, mainly cause I followed the primaries, and well, the last Republican primary was a shitshow all around. It will be interesting to see who goes up for both parties in 16.

Bolded - I agree. I think the Dems will have an uphill battle at that time depending on how the rest of this ACA goes...I think there are more millions of people slated to lose their health insurance in the next year.

A lot of it will depend on how the ACA goes. :P The most annoying thing about it is how hard it is to find unbiased news. I've seen multiple articles on how it's working fine in CA, and I'll link the LA times article that's like "eeeeehhh, it's still alive, kinda" but I know posting a Salon article on here would go over like a Drag Queen at Chic-Fil-A. Of course, showing me a Fox news article isn't going to do any convincing either.

I am now tempted to try and post an appropriate drag race gif every time I respond here.
  • I think once we see how the election turns out this coming november 2014 that will give us an inkling to who the next president will be.  Will the Repubs take back the senate (my hope) or will the dems take the house and keep the senate (do i hear hilary in the future).

I agree with every word of this. I totally would have voted for the McCain from the year 2000, but the 2008 version went off the rails.

I don't think there's any way the Dem's are taking the house. Republicans almost always do better in the non-presidential year because Republicans are more consistent voters. I think there's a chance the Republicans could take the Senate though.

It will be interested to see what effect ACA has on the 2016 election. Hilary has done a great job of distancing herself from both Obama and the ACA roll-out to the point where she and Bill have both criticized Obama for it.
  • Here is my comment about obama.

I really hate your president, because he is an evil man, killing innocent children via drone attacks in Pakistan. What, if your home would suffer a drone attack, resulting to casualties of your child, family etc. So, what is the exact problem, your president have with us? We will fight against these evil acts. Can anyone justify me about the worst planing and evil decisions of your president?

I don't like Obama either, so no, I won't attempt to justify any of his poor planning and "evil decisions," as you call them. His pro-choice stance kills babies here in the U.S. too. I did not vote for him either time. And, I look forward to the day when he is out of office.

We can go back and forth all day about whether "babies are dying" but let's be real here; Obama has nothing to do with that.  Roe v Wade does.
  • Obama will go down in history as the worst president. I am sorry... but the only reason he was elected was because he is black. He has done nothing good for the country.
  • I think he is actually a very intelligent person but has such socialist/communist ideals that conflict heavily with what America was founded on. He has to go.

  • Again, no.

Federal judge just ruled that portions of Obama's immigration executive order are UNCONSTITUTIONAL and beyond the scope and reach of his office as President. In other words, this could be an impeachable offense. He directly violated the U.S. Constitution - the same Constitution he said he'd protect and uphold.

Regardless of your views on immigration, violating the Constitution is very grave. If it happens with one thing, even a little thing, it can happen again.

    Oh really? Like what specifically?
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
