Married With (Step)Children

I only pop in and out of the boards, but there's one "community" I haven't seen...

My husband and I are newlyweds, and our lives are definitely on the path of newlyweds. We juggle our married life, our new careers, we want a house, we want to plan nice vacations, and we want to expand our family. And I do mean 'expand'. He's always had custody of his 2 kids (10 & 12, one of each), and they are great kids! The way he's raised them is the main reason I love him as much as I do. He's endured a lot to support them. We're a May-December, BTW; he's got 14 years on me.

Any other blended families out there? Newly Married Stepmom??? I'd love to swap some stories and advice since none of my other friends are in a situation like mine.

:)

    Meee!!

I am a stepmommy to the most beautiful little girl in the world. She's 6 and spoiled rotten. Lol I feel the same way about my husband, he is beyond the best Dad in this world.

  • There is a blended family board over on the bump.
  • Hard job you have to work extra hard to make it work. I grew up as a step kid and told myself I would never have step children. It takes very special people to make blended families work. I read a study not to long ago it can take up to 7 years before a blended family starts to feel like a family. My hat is off to you for stepping up and taking on that roll. =]

  • Oh cool! Thanks.

  • Thank you. Jason and I have been together over 4 years and living together for nearly all that time, so we're halfway to that mile marker.

    :)
