Well Endowed Ladies Come In!

I am seeking some bra advice. I started off a 38DD pre-pregnancy. I'm now closer to a 40DDD. I am seeking some assistance in bra suggestions? I would like to invest in some unwired bras. In the past I have felt like unwired bras push my breasts together giving me crazy cleavage and uniboob and sometimes pointy boob. I'm trying to find a comfortable bra that will keep the girls comfortable and separated. Any suggestions? I don't really care about cute at this point. Just comfortable.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Well Endowed Ladies Come In!

  • I was a 34DDDD before I had a reduction in 2006, so I feel your pain!  I always preferred underwire for the same reason. The best advice I can give is to make sure you are wearing the proper size.  Before I was properly fitted (and I don't mean by a teenager at VS), I was wearing the completely wrong size. I had to go down a chest size and up a cup size. After I did that and got the correct size my bras were SO much more comfortable.

I am now a 34C and just recently tried the Genie Bra (they were on sale at BJs, so I figured, "why not?!"). They're actually really comfortable! The look more like a sports bra, so you can't wear them with everything (it comes up pretty high, so it will show even if your shirts isn't that low-cut). I like the way it shapes and separates.  HTH!

  • Currently I'm just over a 42 DD - moving up shortly, but I'm waiting until the pregnancy is over. I'm planning on making a trip to a mall with either a Nordstrom or a Soma to get properly fitted.

I tried a Genie bra and hated it, it gave me no support. At all, I returned it an hour later. Our store didn't carry the largest size in store.

  • I really like the Genie bra, surprisingly.
If you plan on nursing I'd go to the motherhood store, I love a few bras from there. At buy three get one free (even on clearance), it was a deal. If not nursing, you can't go wrong with Lane Bryant bras, love love love them. Quite expensive though.

My boobs didn't really get huge, only when engorged. I'm a 42d

  • I'm something like a 36E.  I have one nice bra from Victoria's Secret, but have also bought some from figleaves.com and barenecessities.com.  For nursing bras I got a couple from Motherhood that were good, one from a Playtex outlet that I liked, and a couple from the above websites.  One brand that I really liked was Anita.  I got a nursing bra and it fits like a second skin.  The only down side was that it wasn't molded at all, so with the wrong shirt you can see nips or nursing pads.
