DD came down with a major case of the 3 year old attitude

Just in time for Christmas.  Lovely.    She had a full on tantrum at the Y today.  Laid herself flat on the floor (and on a woman's feet)  and screamed like I was murdering her.  I especially love the major side eye I was getting from a few women who were holding babies.  "I just wanted to yell screw all of you!  You will be right here in about 2 years!"

Although, I do have to pat myself on the back.  I handled it like a pro.  Got her shoes and coat on, scooped her up, grabbed my other daughter and walked out as calm as a cucumber.  I didn't even break a sweat.

Happy Monday!  There's no better birth control than a 3 year old.

    LOL! So true!

The highlight of my weekend was the bedtime tantrum that involved me locking my screaming 4 yo in his room in front of my parents. They didn't judge, but it still made me feel crappy.

  • This makes me feel better--sometimes I feel like we're the only ones dealing with 3 year old meltdowns.
  • 3 was the worst.  But good news, it shall pass. It may be replaced by a different bad phase/attitude, but it will pass!! :)

seriously though, hang in there...you're doing a great job & it sounds like you remained more calm than I'm normally able to!

  • I feel your pain on the public tantrums.  They are the worst, and part of the frustration is the Judgy McJudgerholes who sit there with the side eyes. Garrett is bringing new meaning to the term Terrible Two's, but I am hoping he follows in his brother's footsteps and has a peaceful age 3.  That being said, I am preparing for the worst!

Yeah, I thought the horrible 3's would pass us over this time (because my oldest was a poster child for a crazy 3 year old) but it looks like it doesn't work that way.
