Oh Facebook (PR)

So I get onto Facebook this afternoon to find a pregnancy announcement from my best friend from high school.  Usually these announcements don't bother me.  I just put "Congratulations" and move on.  But I click on the comments to add my congrats, and the first comment is from her ex-boyfriend that she broke up with a couple of months ago.  It says, "Is it mine?"  Her response was, "I don't know whose it is, and it doesn't matter."

Oh boy.  I clicked the comments shut, and haven't looked back.  Nor have I added my congrats.  Maybe I'll just send her a text instead so I don't have to watch the conversation unravel.  Why must people think it's appropriate to put these questions on Facebook?  They dated for over a year too. So it isn't like it was a one night stand or something.

I'm thinking some wine is in order for tonight.

H keeps telling me that he can't wait to get off work and check Facebook, because he wants to watch the comments unravel.  Hopefully at some point this will be a conversation they have off of Facebook, but I wouldn't be surprised if it continues on there.

Wow. I'm sorry you had to see that. I never comment on PR announcements because I don't want to be notified that 50 more people have posted their congratulations. I just click "Like" (usually) and move on. I'm not sure I could click the button in your case. I hope your week gets better!

This is brilliant! I actually usually will go to their page to congratulate them without posting on the post itself to avoid the notifications but liking it is so much easier! I can't believe I never thought of just doing that.

Wow.  At first I thought maybe they were pissing around with "I don't know who the father is", but it doesn't seem that way.  Wow.

@lilliesandvino  I gave in and read through the comments.  Supposably they broke up a few months ago, but have been seeing each other since. AKA, F buddies.  But another guy spoke up on the comments, and said the math matches up to when he was seeing her.  Then she commented that she will call them both.

Hahahaha oh how I would love to post something like that. I bit my tongue and sent her a text saying congratulations.  She said that she just found out a couple of weeks ago, and had no idea she was pregnant.  Then she said she's 21 weeks.  Which would put her due date around the beginning of April, not May. 

And now I'm realizing that I just way over analyzed that.  Maybe knowing a lot about getting pregnant isn't such a good thing.

If she's 21 weeks now then she got knocked up in July, was she with her X then? If so, then it really should be his, right? What a way to find out you're going to have a child!

On Sunday my SIL posted on FB complaining that BIL hasn't been helping with the kids and hasn't changed a diaper since baby came home 2 weeks ago. Last night, she post a picture of BIL holding baby and niece, all of them asleep and tags it "such a good daddy!" Yeah, I'm judging.

@littlelady77 She was with her ex then.  I'm almost wondering if she's trying to play it off like she's due at a different date because she doesn't want to admit that it is her ex's kid.  It wouldn't surprise me.
