Are we still newlyweds?

When do you stop becoming a newlywed? I mean we were married on 5/5/12 and I still think we are in our honeymoon stage.

Re: Are we still newlyweds?

  • I think it's probably a little bit different for every couple. I mean, the honeymoon stage won't be the same for everyone because everyone's relationship prior to marriage was a different length and they had different experiences.
  • i always thought it was for the first year. But some people still call us newlyweds and its been 3.5 years so I have no idea.  Truly for me, i felt like the first 6 months was honeymoon stage like and that was it.

  • I say it's the first year or so. The honeymoon phase is different for everyone. Just because that pase is over or still going does not mean you aren't still newly married.
  • I'd say for the first year too. I've heard some people say the first 5 years but that seems a bit excessive to me, lol.

  • I also think the first year. Whether or not you're still in your honeymoon stage isn't really relevant I don't think.
    Life is good today.
  • I got married in 2004 and still feel like we're in the Honeymoon phase!!!
  • The Newlywed Game counts newlyweds as being married 2 years or less.

  • I  agree that the newlywed stage is the first two years (read it in an article). So, I think I will consider myself a newlywed right up until my 3rd anniversary. I have been married a year and a half as of today.
