for those who get a live tree (Reillys)

Especially if you're in the north, i'd recommend checking out Reilly's!  We went there over the weekend, they had a decent selection of trees to pick from (not as big/full as we've had in past years, but Brian likes to go all christmas vacation style...the one we got this year was perfectly fine!) and if you are buying a tree there, you can take a hayride with Santa for FREE!!  (well, free aside from the $50 or so you fork over for the tree but still!)  It was very cute, you can go inside first and the kids can sit on his lap and you can take pictures, they also have some hot cocoa and cookies in there, too!  There is a live nativity scene, then you get on the hayride with santa (my kids thought they were riding in style with a celebrity!)  It was very cute.

  • This a great to know, thanks. We're closer to Soergels but try to avoid the crowds on the weekends.  We were going to try Shenot's but I had forgotten about Reilly's!

It is only one more exited on 79, it is probably only 10 minutes further.

  • We love Reilly's!  Last year Mason got to sit on Santa's lap during the hayride.  I think he may have been more excited than I would have been had I been able to sit on Adam Levine's lap!  =)

We just converted from a fake tree to a real tree this year, I'll have to keep them in mind for next year!

  • We love Reilly's but usually only visit in the summer and fall.  This was the first year we got a tree there and I was hesitant to even go at first bc I thought they would be more expensive than our independent tree lot.  I was wrong!  Wow totally reasonable for a #1 cut (even the premium cuts were reasonably priced!), and it is very full and symmetrical-which I require  :)
