Guess I'm back here. ::sigh:: Good thing I like all of you ladies,   >:D<

We're obviously TTA for this cycle. I started temping again yesterday, and I'll need to be diligent about checking CM so we can avoid ST around the FW.

QOTW: Since becoming an adult (ie, not living with my parents anymore and being married in my own house), I haven't really established any holiday traditions or continued any from childhood. Unless you count the mandatory watching of a few Christmas movies (Home Alone, the animated Grinch, and a few others).

I'm breaking the news to my closest girlfriends tonight. A couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd be calling to tell them all that I'm pregnant at this point (since I'd have had my first appt to confirm and all that). I know I don't have to tell them that I was or about the loss, but I'll be seeing them all in January for the one's baby shower, and I need their support and understanding.

ETA: Question for those who've experienced loss: Was your next cycle fairly normal, did it go longer, or was it otherwise unusual for you? I'm not terribly regular as it is, but I do have a fairly predictable "window" I expect to O in and length for the cycle to not go beyond. I'm just trying to figure out how long this will take, and if being on progesterone for a week (see chart) will have any impact.

  • RAB - I'm hoping your body keeps doing what it's supposed to!!

Looney - WOOHOO!! Congrats on passing! Exams are stressful, whether you're in high school or college or not!

Nfp - Your husband is a sweetie - that's so cute!

Lucky - Big fat hugs to you. I can't answer your questions but I hope telling your friends gives you some support that you're needing.

    Love to everyone!

As for me, we're still on a break. We're still kind of trying, in the sense that I try to listen to my body cues (CM, nipple soreness, etc) and have sex around that time but I'm off the Clomid and am not even thinking about returning to the RE until February-ish.

QOTW - Growing up, my mom always had a party on Christmas Eve, and at the end all the parents gave their kids one gift - Christmas PJs!! And then one of the adults would sneak off and ring some bells and make a big deal about how it was Santa's sleigh and that would signify the end of the party. My mom still gets me and my sister Christmas jammies and now that my sister has LOs, she does Christmas Eve. This year I will be doing the sneaky bell ringing! It was magical as a kid so I hope the kids now love it just as much.

  • RAB: I love you big time. That is all.
LA: again, I'm sorry for your loss. I have no advice, but wish you loud of strength as you talk to your friends.
NFP: that turkey dance sounds like something my mom would do! Funny wise, but I'm sure the reason she's never done it is she's a huge klutz like me and the turkey would be on the floor.
LL congrats on the exam! And for your friend. How great! I assume you'll get special auntie privileges??

QOTD: I love decorating to Christmas music with a fire going. I love Christmas light looking when there's snow on the ground. I love Christmas morning at my parents where we can get stockings outside of our door and then go upstairs to watch all the kids open their presents from Santa first and reading the note he returned to us/them. And up until last year, I got to put the angel on top of the tree by sitting on my dad shoulders. I'm 28 and he's 70 :). Last year it went to my oldest niece... I guess my fertility meds pushed me over the weight threshold ;)

  • @LuckyAngel07 I'm so sorry you have to be back here :(
My situation was a little different because I had a D&C, but about two weeks after the procedure I finally started getting negative HPTs.  I never went back to have blood drawn to confirm negative beta, but just assumed that it was all gone.  About two weeks after that I ovulated, and two weeks after that got my period.  That's where I'm at now.  So for me (and I was always "regular" before) as soon as the HCG was out of my system, my body went back to normal.  It still remains to be seen how it reacts this first official cycle post D&C.

I wasn't thinking about the negative betas. I do need to go back on Monday for another blood draw to see how far they've gone down (considering they dropped by something like 2300 in a week, I'm figuring/hoping they'll be 0 on Monday). I guess at that point I should start expecting my body to act like it normally does and O a few weeks later (because Oing before CD 21 is a damn near nonexistent occurrence for me).

    Thanks for the input, LL.

  • Update: we've been disagreeing about the effect the medicines are having on my moods and what to do next; I feel like I'm ready to move to adoption, but DH isn't there yet. We have another appointment in January so we'll need to see what happens then. I'm hoping at the very least to come up with some sort of indication when he thinks he could be ready. QOTW: I have a few, my mom always had a beautiful ceramic tree she had painted and I always got to put in the "ornaments." Now in my own house I have one too. DH and I started having a nightly Christmas movie when we were engaged and it has been a nice thing for us to do together. Finally every year the whole family goes to Christmas candlelight service and exchanges gifts at my grandma's, afterwards DH and I go to my parents to do our exchange with them.

Lucky- I hate you're back here. I really fucking hate it.

Xan- wishing you so much luck!

Poppies- GL with GF. I'm so hopeful for you.

Love, hugs, prayers, thoughts- whatever you all I need, I'm sending your way.

I actually had a confirmed ovulation and AF for the first time in almost a decade- silver lining to the 2nd chemical I suppose. We are taking a break this month since we are going to Hawaii for Christmas! I think I'm going to try and convince Mr to try 2 more times with injects and IUI then move on to IVF. Tough decision, but I don't know how much longer we can do this.

I love the holidays and everything about them. We have awesome big dinners Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we still hang stockings, champagne while opening presents- too many traditions to count.

@Looneylife - congrats on all the good news!

@LuckyAngel07 - as others have already said, so sorry that you are back in our group!

As some of you may (or may not) have read in a previous post this week, I am back on the boards after an extended break (and lots of stress that just seems to continue at home/work/etc.). DH and I underwent 2 cycles of Clomid and IUI, and after the last cycle was a complete bust and with the craziness that came up after, we decided to take a break and reconsider our options. We applied for an IVF grant (through BabyQuest Foundation, if anyone is interested in the future), but didn't win.  So, we decided that we're getting a roommate at our new house, DH will work on his summer break, and we're saving up for a cycle of IVF in the summer (100% OOP). In the meantime, I'm not temping, OPK'ing, etc., and we'll see if anything happens (not holding my breath though since I've been off of BCP since 7/2010).

QOTW:  We don't have any Christmas traditions (and I really didn't growing up either). I love reading everyone else's traditions though! Some great ones that I've never heard of before.

FFC: I have been having a lot of issues at work recently (has not been a pleasant place to work for quite sometime, although I LOVE what I do), and was so excited this week to find a couple of loopholes that work very much to my advantage (even if it involves a couple of little white lies. For one, I was told that I would only get reimbursed for 1/2 of my mileage (for a roundtrip of almost 300 miles per week) because of where my "home" is (near the office that I am working 1 day per week). So, I changed my address to my mom's address near my main office. Got confirmation earlier today that my address change has been accepted, and now will get reimbursed the full amount ($165 instead of $83!).

GL to all of the ladies that are in the middle of TTC cycles this month!

P.S. So glad to be back among supportive ladies who understand the struggles we're all facing (even if my DH teases me for "joining another club", lol).

ETA: Had to get rid of the smiley faces (overload).

Again sorry you're dealing with this lucky. Before my m/c my cycles (without meds) were totally irregular. I got AF 8 weeks after my m/c. After my CP my cycles got more regular again at about 35ish days. I think it's different for everyone but like LL said CD1 is really when your betas drop. FX for an easy cycle this one.

Hugs and good luck to everyone else who needs them.

QOTW: We didn't have too many traditions growing up except watching a VHS tape of Christmas shows my mom had taped when we were little, specifically the Muppet Family Christmas. We also drank mimosas while opening presents once we got older.
If DH and I are home and not at the IL's for Christmas we do fondue dinner and watch Love Actually on Christmas Eve and I always bake Land of Nod for Christmas morning.

  • Lots of love to all of you. @LuckyAngel07 you've been on my mind and I hope you're hanging in there.

I updated the other day but our FET cycle will begin with my next period- probably right before Christmas. Transfer will be right around Valentine's Day. This break has been awesome for my stress/anxiety level and as soon as we got the thumbs up for FET, I felt it starting to creep back. I feel a ton of pressure. These are our last embryos and we said from the very beginning that we would not do another fresh cycle. I'm scared. I am constantly praying that H and I can just find peace.

  • Ladies, thank you for thinking of me. Today feels better than the last 2, so I'm holing on and getting through it.

ILRV, I'm praying so hard for you that this FET cycle works!! Because it just has to, damnit. Do whatever you need to do to keep the stress and anxiety to a minimum as much as possible. Listen to soothing music, meditate, use aromatherapy lotions/candles (I looooove lavender; it has an instant soothing effect on me), whatever works for you.

  • Popping in and although I am not technically a 3Ter, I feel a kinship with many of you ladies.

@LuckyAngel07 My first post-d&c cycle came 6 weeks after but in my case my betas weren't zero until a few weeks after that so zero doesn't necessarily mean AF.  BUT I definetly O'ed on CD21 this cycle which is typical for me for the last year.  And my first AF was longer but lighter than normal with no cramps, but I know this varies for people.

@Iloveredvino I'm praying these embryos give you and your DH the baby you deserve.  Do you like yoga? I find that Ying yoga does wonders for my mind because it is so slow and relaxing.  Also, I have had many, many friends successfully manage their anxiety with the help of a naturopath if that is something you are open to. In any case, good luck :)
