Happy Friday!! What are you reading?
And how do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges?
How's the weather where you are today? Lots of nasty weather around. And hinging on that when/where's your next vacation?
Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!!

Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?
I'm listening to Requiem by Lauren Oliver. I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it after not liking book two. #72
ETA: The weather is odd. It was 50 overnight, but the cold front is coming in so it will be in the 30's by evening.
No vacations planned. We'll probably do a weekend trip here any there, but we usually hibernate for the winter.
my read shelf:
Wes: 10/8/2012
I'm listening to Salt, Sugar, Fat which is interesting but I can only take it in small doses.
They are numbers 51 and 52 (my goal!) for the year.
The weather here isn't too bad. We luckily missed the storm which is nice but it barely feels like Christmas season. DH and I were just talking about how hard it would be for us to move somewhere like Florida where it never really gets that cold. We've equated cold with Christmas all our lives.
Next vacation: Las Vegas for the FIRST time in February and I'm very excited.
my read shelf:
I'm reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone. It is very awesome.
I'm listening to Steven Tyler's biography, Does the Noise in my Head Bother You? The book is so funny, if you can stand the CONSTANT talk about drugs.
The weather here in Central Ohio is Snowmageddeon. I'm pretty worried about my commute this evening.

My read shelf:

I'm reading The Sea of Tranquility and cannot put it down and The Dream Thieves though I'm only about 25 pages in because I got sucked into the other book.
I'm listening to Under the Never Sky.
The weather here is also a bit odd. It was around 60 when I left for work and will be dropping to 50ish this afternoon. Then it will get cold and rainy/snowy this weekend.
No vacations planned other than traveling to Michigan to see my family for Christmas in a few weeks. But, visiting family doesn't count, right?

I gave up on my other audiobook and I'm not listening to The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot. Just what I needed - silly, entertaining fun.
#s 101 and 102 for the year.
It's just cold here today. No snow, sadly. We were supposed to be going to Phoenix in August to coincide with DH's work conference but the location was changed to Florida, which isn't an option for me so we have no vacation plans. Maybe going down to visit BIL & SIL in Atlanta. Maybe a week at the cabin. Maybe a week in Phoenix another time. Who knows.

I'm STILL reading The Fiery Cross. I have about 50 pages left and really wanted to finish it last night, but DH wouldn't stop talking to me. When I finally got in bed to read, it was super late and I fell asleep. But I have a 2 hour allergy doctor appointment today (as in, 20 minutes with doctors and an hour and 40 minutes sitting in the waiting room), so I should finish it then.
I also brought Horns, by Joe Hill with me, in case I finish TFC and need something else to read.

I am reading Opal (Lux series #3) While the series isn't life-changing or anything, I am definitely enjoying it. It will be #94 for the year. My goal was 85, but I am secretly hoping to reach 100.
The weather is rainy and dreary. Not super cold though, which is a plus, I guess.
No vacations planned. I am going to the Poconos for work training in February for a week, but I will be super busy.
The weather in my part of the Great White North, is overcast and hovering around 2C. No snow for us, yet.
I really wanted to take a quick 4-5 day getaway to a beach somewhere before Christmas but that didn't happen. So our next trip will probably be out west to visit my SIL after she has her baby.
my read shelf:
Weather in Vancouver is a few degrees below freezing.... But sunny with green grass. Crossing my fingers for NO SNOW in the city this winter. (We had one day of it last year, then it melted for the rest of the season. And I was glad.)
As for vacation... we are going to visit my parents out east for Christmas. (It is -41 there today. Ugh.) But it will be fun and festive. So I am trying to ignore the possibility of horrendously low temps.
Not sure where we are going next year yet! I don't think we will have to go to Morocco again... so that leaves the rest of the world to explore. We'll see!
I am still working on A Clash of Kings and probably will be until almost Christmas. I'm about 80% done so I'm getting there. I am also reading A Shot of Sultry which I am loving! I also just started Where'd You Go, Bernadette?. It's different from what I was expecting but I am really enjoying it so far.
It is freezing here and has been for about a week now! Right now it is -22C but with the wind it feels like -33C and it sucks!
Unfortunately, we are not going anywhere anytime soon. We did a big two weeks in DisneyWorld last February so we will be sticking close to home this winter.
I'm listening to Curtsies and Conspiracies. I just started reading the new John Grisham this morning. #187-188 for the year.
I'm in Minnesota, and it was -4 when I left for work. But I like to have to stay inside, cook, and read, so I don't usually mind the cold.
I'm reading Call the Midwife for my IRL book club. It's fascinating so far and I like it a lot, but have had trouble reading while eating my lunch at work a couple of times. It gets kind of squicky sometimes.
My next vacation will be in July when we go to the UK for my sister's wedding.
