Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

And how do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges? How's the weather where you are today? Lots of nasty weather around. And hinging on that when/where's your next vacation?

I'm reading The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead.  So far it's interesting.  #71

I'm listening to Requiem by Lauren Oliver.  I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it after not liking book two.  #72

ETA: The weather is odd.  It was 50 overnight, but the cold front is coming in so it will be in the 30's by evening.

No vacations planned.  We'll probably do a weekend trip here any there, but we usually hibernate for the winter.

I just finished The Queen's Vow by CW Gortner which I really liked.  It was the story of Queen Isabella of Castile, Catherine's mother.

I'm listening to Blue Dahlia right now.  I get my new credits next week.

I'm kind of in between books right now and I don't know what to do.

Next vacation?  We're going to try and get back down to the Fort Myers area in February to see if we really want to be there year round.

  • I'm 40% into Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. So far, so much of what is happening is making me unhappy. It's not that I don't like the book, I'm just not happy at the moment!

    It's #35 for the year.

The weather is now cold. Yesterday started off in the 60s, then cooled down. The high today is supposed to be in the 30s. We got just a little snow overnight- supposed to get more later.

We currently have no vacations planned. I'd like to visit Boston next, but we are going to start TTC in January so I don't want to make any definite vacation plans right now.

  • I'm reading The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and I'm really enjoying it so far.  I love the characters.
I'm listening to Salt, Sugar, Fat which is interesting but I can only take it in small doses.
They are numbers 51 and 52 (my goal!) for the year.

The weather here isn't too bad.  We luckily missed the storm which is nice but it barely feels like Christmas season.  DH and I were just talking about how hard it would be for us to move somewhere like Florida where it never really gets that cold.  We've equated cold with Christmas all our lives.

Next vacation: Las Vegas for the FIRST time in February and I'm very excited.

I'm reading Shadow Walker and Some Girls Bite. They will be somewhere around 220 for the year.

I have also been reading the Claymore manga, which has been fantastic. I am on volume 17.

The weather here has been rainy, but it's supposed to go below freezing for the next few days.

Our next planned trip is out to Indiana to visit my family for Christmas. No other plans after that.

  • I have the Epilogue left in William Howard Taft: An Intimate History by Judith Icke Anderson.  It didn't suck as much as I was anticipating surprisingly.

Then I will start My Hitch in Hell: The Bataan Death March by Lester I. Tenney.

I also need to start something on my Kindle seeing I finished up Bared To You by Sylvia Day this morning.  I just haven't decided what yet.

  • I'm about 1/4 of the way through the bronze horseman and am loving it. I started it last year or earlier this year and had to return the book to the library so I didn't get to finish it. I bought a nice big paperback version and am so glad I did. At home on long island weathers 53 and cloudy. My next vacay is probably in April to London but there's issues with flights and miles. We shall see.

I'm reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone.  It is very awesome.

I'm listening to Steven Tyler's biography, Does the Noise in my Head Bother You?  The book is so funny, if you can stand the CONSTANT talk about drugs.

The weather here in Central Ohio is Snowmageddeon.  I'm pretty worried about my commute this evening.

  • I'm reading The Sea of Tranquility and cannot put it down and The Dream Thieves though I'm only about 25 pages in because I got sucked into the other book.

I'm listening to Under the Never Sky.

The weather here is also a bit odd. It was around 60 when I left for work and will be dropping to 50ish this afternoon. Then it will get cold and rainy/snowy this weekend.

No vacations planned other than traveling to Michigan to see my family for Christmas in a few weeks. But, visiting family doesn't count, right?

  • I just started Morning Glory by Sarah Jio.  I have a feeling that if the summary was more descriptive, I wouldn't have picked this one up...

I gave up on my other audiobook and I'm not listening to The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot.  Just what I needed - silly, entertaining fun.

    #s 101 and 102 for the year.

It's just cold here today.  No snow, sadly.  We were supposed to be going to Phoenix in August to coincide with DH's work conference but the location was changed to Florida, which isn't an option for me so we have no vacation plans.  Maybe going down to visit BIL & SIL in Atlanta.  Maybe a week at the cabin.  Maybe a week in Phoenix another time.  Who knows.

I finally picked Tell the Wolves I'm Home back up.  I enjoy it when I read it, I'm not really sure why I keep putting it down.  I hope to actually finish it this weekend.

I posted too soon!  It is in the 70s here and humid. I'm going to San Diego tonight to meet up with MH, he is there for work, to celebrate our anniversary!  It is a really last minute trip, which is starting to become a trend for me, and I really can't wait.

  • I'm listening to Dark Places by Gillian Flynn and completely loving it.  If I were reading instead of listening, I think I would've blown through it in a matter of days.  But the narrators are great, and I'm really enjoying it as an audiobook.  I have 2 CDs left.

I'm STILL reading The Fiery Cross.  I have about 50 pages left and really wanted to finish it last night, but DH wouldn't stop talking to me.  When I finally got in bed to read, it was super late and I fell asleep.  But I have a 2 hour allergy doctor appointment today (as in, 20 minutes with doctors and an hour and 40 minutes sitting in the waiting room), so I should finish it then.

I also brought Horns, by Joe Hill with me, in case I finish TFC and need something else to read.

  • Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo. It's hilarious, I love it so far. I never thought humor and zombies would mix well together, but it does.

  • I am reading Opal (Lux series #3) While the series isn't life-changing or anything, I am definitely enjoying it. It will be #94 for the year. My goal was 85, but I am secretly hoping to reach 100.

The weather is rainy and dreary. Not super cold though, which is a plus, I guess.

No vacations planned. I am going to the Poconos for work training in February for a week, but I will be super busy.

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • I keep starting books but not finishing them.  Right now I'm working on Lover Awakened (BDB #3) and Eragon (for FBC).  I've got a disc and a half left in Orange is the New Black, I think I will try to finish that off today.

The weather in my part of the Great White North, is overcast and hovering around 2C.  No snow for us, yet.

I really wanted to take a quick 4-5 day getaway to a beach somewhere before Christmas but that didn't happen.   So our next trip will probably be out west to visit my SIL after she has her baby.

  • I just started Siege and Storm.

Weather in Vancouver is a few degrees below freezing....  But sunny with green grass.  Crossing my fingers for NO SNOW in the city this winter.  (We had one day of it last year, then it melted for the rest of the season.  And I was glad.)

As for vacation... we are going to visit my parents out east for Christmas.  (It is -41 there today.  Ugh.)   But it will be fun and festive.  So I am trying to ignore the possibility of horrendously low temps.

Not sure where we are going next year yet!  I don't think we will have to go to Morocco again... so that leaves the rest of the world to explore.  We'll see!

  • I am still working on A Clash of Kings and probably will be until almost Christmas.  I'm about 80% done so I'm getting there. I am also reading A Shot of Sultry which I am loving!  I also just started Where'd You Go, Bernadette?.  It's different from what I was expecting but I am really enjoying it so far.

It is freezing here and has been for about a week now! Right now it is -22C but with the wind it feels like -33C and it sucks!

Unfortunately, we are not going anywhere anytime soon.  We did a big two weeks in DisneyWorld last February so we will be sticking close to home this winter.

  • I'm listening to A Break With Charity by Ann Rinaldi but not loving it, it's very similar to The Crucible and every other Salem witch trials book I've ever read.

I'm reading The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick.  I'm a bit disappointed because I absolutely loved Silver Linings Playbook and this does not live up to it.  I listened to SLP and am wondering if I would have liked an audio version of TGLORN better.

They are numbers 125 & 126 for the year.

The weather here is unseasonably warm but it's going to start raining any second.

I would like to plan a cruise for this coming September but we'll see.

  • I'm starting The Fiery Heart today.

  • I'm listening to Curtsies and Conspiracies.  I just started reading the new John Grisham this morning.  #187-188 for the year.

I'm in Minnesota, and it was -4 when I left for work.  But I like to have to stay inside, cook, and read, so I don't usually mind the cold.

  • I just started Ender's Game.  I think it's #46 for the year.  No opinion of it yet.  I read like 20 pages last night and then fell asleep.

Weather is icky by me.  Snow is moving in as we speak.  I think we're supposed to get around 4 inches by tonight.  Hard to say because the forecasts vary and it seems to be coming in later than first anticipated.  I'm in Central Ohio.

  • I am inbetween active books right now. Shocker I know. I finished both my audio and ebooks last night/this morning.

The weather today was decent in Southern Ontario. I was on the road and the roads were clear and dry and that is all I really care about this time of year. The temp was hovering around freezing.
  • I'm reading The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ by Robert Stone. It's... interesting.

  • I'm reading Call the Midwife for my IRL book club. It's fascinating so far and I like it a lot, but have had trouble reading while eating my lunch at work a couple of times. It gets kind of squicky sometimes.

My next vacation will be in July when we go to the UK for my sister's wedding.

  • I'm nearly done with Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion, a kind of quiet, more literary zombie novel, and still reading Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. Both are good, I've just been so zonked out after all of the holiday madness and sickness going around our house that I've been falling asleep after reading a few paragraphs some nights.

  • I'm reading Dragonfly in Amber.  It's number 71, I believe.

The weather is wet and gross but I went to the mall with my SIL and MIL to have the kids visit Santa.  I have no idea when my next vacation will be, probably not until the summer?
